Hey Gang - I got this a few weeks ago and wondered if any of you guys received this same package? I was pleasantly surprised and really impressed and appreciated the P.R and the thought from MB to send this to me. It includes:
1) A Hardback book 50 or so pages telling of AMG's histroy
2) Another book explaining the benefits of AMG ownership \ experience
3) A 30+minute or long DVD video of AMG cars and history - great footage in it BTW
4) An personally addressed letter to me and signed by MB USA CEO
5) A Saks 5th avenue $100 gift card!

Yeah, got mine. They're doing it with the E63, too. But I think you have to register your VIN with MBUSA or something (?) ... can't quite remember. It's a MBUSA thing.

This sort of little giftie thing on higher priced models is pretty common (Porsche, etc..)

p.s., the letter wasn't personal, it was an electronically signed form letter and just had your name filled in at the top

The DVD was fun to look at and I gave away the gift card to a good friend who likes shopping at Saks....

Kidding aside, I didn't receive anything when I bought the ML.

 

I got a gift card when I got my 09 E350 it was only $25 though I don't even know whats saks is anyways so not that big of a deal to me.

 

Got a saks $100 giftcard and a MB wallet. I thought it was nice to get a gift, definately a good PR idea.

 

Same with me, this was almost 3 years ago, so it looks like they've upgraded the gifts.

That's awesome! I love extra information and I would love to see that DVD, too bad there aren't any copies on Ebay or any copies a member made. I'll love to see what's on it.

I got that same thing 2 weeks ago in the mail! I love it! the dvd is great and I bought 2 shirts with the gift card. Btw I bought my e55 used but it was mb certified.

 

wtf mine was CPO'ed too and I didn't get jack!

 

Got the same stuff. 100$ at saks is kinda like giving someone a 1$ to go to the grocery store. It doesn't go very far.

This just arrived in the mail today for the purchase of my CPO E55 a month ago. Quite impressed w/ the nice touches, excited to read through the informative material.

 

They have to give away sweet crap now to get you happy about your overpriced AMG.
Now in my experience BMW is rad, I still get their magazine and cool trinkets, Benz gives out cool stuff in the mail sometimes..but if you want the real deal cool crap. Buy a Porsche and get that owners list. For years to come you will get really cool random P Car branded gifts. Like Pen Sets', Knives, Toys, Books..ect..

 

OH and the Saks card used to be 25 bucks, wow they bumped that up..! I got a couple of those when I bought a couple Benzes back to back a few years ago..Yeah everyone gets those little wallets, I just throw them on egay..
