Need help on tires...
Guys,
I'm planning to install 20" wheels and the tire shop informed me that they only carry Toyo, Falken, and contis.
I've had good luck with Michelin PS2 back when I was still living in the USA, but it's so hard to find those PS2 tires in my country.
So the choices are now down to:
Toyo (T1R?)
Falken 452
Conti (CSC3)
I was about to make my decision on CSC3 until I read mixed reviews that hold me from buying those. One point to consider, a set of 20" CSC3 costs almost $2000 in my country. I don't want to spend a lot to get only "so-so" tires, i remember back in the states i could get a set of PS2 for way less than that![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Was asking about vredestein & pirelli, but they're not available, too.
This will be more like my weekend driver + occasional "track car", so treadwear is not an issue as long as they have good grip.
So, can anyone enlighten me on the tire selection? thanks.
p.s: sorry for noob post![Smilie](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
been lurking on this forum for so long, but just got the car couple weeks ago...

I red a lot of oppinions on this forum, saying that Toyos T1R are the best tires money can buy regarding good grip! I personally ordered two pieces for my rear wheels at a price of 300 bucks/piece,and now I'm waiting for them to arrive (it was very hard to find them in my country). I can't wait to see how they work! Before them I had Contis and they aren't indeed one of the best tires. Good luck with your search!

Had the Falken's and was pleased with them. Took a little bit to get them warmed up, but they were pretty sticky when warm. Used them on the track and they were good.
Don't have experience to compare them with anything else mentioned. Have Dunlop Direza on the car now and would go back to the Falken's.

I have put 3 sets of Falken 452s. I get 4-6k miles from them (High negative camber and serious driving). They are not bad just ordered ps2 to see if I get better grip. One thing about the Falkens is that they tend to have slight "out of round" issues with the 20s. I should know after 3 sets.

Since you are going with 20s the tire choice sort of becomes moot. You are going for looks and not performance. Best performance will be had on 18s. So once you have spent the big bucks on 20s, go for the cheapest thing you can get that is not trash.
The previous poster talks about "serious driving" but again 20s are "serious cruisers".
I did not like my Falkens very much, they had some vibration. I like my F1 Asymetrics real well.

I went w/Vredesteins as a lower priced option. So far I like them much better then both the pilots and the higher end pirellis that were on the car before. I also noticed that my spare tire is a vredestein as well.

guys,
thanks for the inputs.
as of the tire selection, it really comes down to falken fk452 vs toyo t1r now.
which one is stronger & more durable to handle bumpy roads & potholes?
the roads in the place where i live now (Indonesia) are so crooked. LoL.
Please help; I myself do not have any experience with either toyos & falkens since usually i used michelin PS2 or nitto invo while i was still living in the states. Love them a lot, but difficult to source them here.

Toyo T1R's are the best tires I have ever used on any car. The grip is great in wet and dry conditions. I was surprised how well they held up in heavy rain. Definitely worth the money.
