I did it! I bought one....
After following threads here for months, I finally pulled the plug and bought an E55. I bought a 2004 with 46,000 miles, pano roof, completely loaded. I pick it up on Saturday.
I hate the grill, and am going to try to get the dealership to swap it out. Does anyone know what this grill is from? If they don't swap it out, how much is the normal grill for this car?
I didn't want a black car, but it had the miles, equipment, and price I wanted to pay.

Nice I like the two tone interior, just get a factory grill and paint it black. I think it might be lowered a little bit? maybe just the pics

The grille is an aftermarket piece with fitment specific to the W211 E-class. Any stock E-class should have a swappable unit in front, or FleaBay replacements run ~$80-$200.

Congrats and welcome to the community. I recently pulled the trigger on my car as well. Like you i didn't want black but i have to say once you go black you never go back Now put some wheels on that beast and slam it on the ground.
The power and speed of these cars is intoxicating, and the brakes are phenomenal. I took a friend on a short test drive with me, and when i slammed the brakes it almost put her through the windshield

Welcome! Now that I see the grill (I had the sport CL grill for 4 years...originally in chrome then painted black)...I can see why other guys disliked it so much. It is just too much up front and takes away from the rest of the car...
I went back to stock grill and had it painted...just go back to stock and you will be fine. I'd check Ebay first since MB parts shop will be a bit more expensive.
PS Love the two tone interior...I had the charcoal/red interior in my old CLK430 and loved it...

not to keep beating a dead horse. But that grill is awful...... Go back to stock grill. Just my opinion

I fly in tomorrow to get the car. I just talked to the dealer, and they swapped the grill for stock! 
It is a 6 hour drive home, which will be awesome.
My employees think I am nuts. I have been walking around the office today like a kid the day before Christmas.

Well, I got to the dealer, and they had replaced the grill. Everyone there thought it was really ugly. I am really happy I was able to get them to swap it out, especially since I forgot to ask them about it and had already given them a $2,000 deposit. They didn't even swap it out, they put a brand new one on.
The drive back was awesome!
I talked to Todd at Chrysler today about an extended warranty, and think I am going to pull the trigger on that.
