racing in dynomode

i read it earlier in a thread, but the search button isn't working to well for me lately. Im going to the track(drag racing) tonight looking for the best setup.

I plan on going in comfort, raised and in sport mode

My question is has anyone raced in dynomode, if so is it better or worse?

thanks in advance,
Johnny.

IMHO - Always in Dyno mode - it's definitely faster if you know how to get the launch done rite. Left foot brake, let teh light change and if you just care about ET, ignore the light, when you are ready, gently ease on the gas, roll off the line, let the tail squat, and only then do you mash the pedal. Go to the floorboards to soon and you will lose traction instantly and your run will be toast.

In Dyno mode there is no interference from the ESP and have run low 1.7's 60ft in Dyno mode. Never been under 1.81 in normal mode with ESP off (but its never really off)

actually, dynomode makes no difference whatsoever. there's no power gained and esp plays no role if you're launching properly. i can run with esp on, off, or in dynomode and run the exact same times as long as i'm getting traction.

Plus for a launch ESP off is effectively the same.

The only difference is if you screw up and hit the brakes, you have no ABS and the balance is no good without it. Very rear biased.

I also agree with Mikey, learn you car and practice, I'm down to 1.81 60' with a 30 series profile (no sidewall flex) 300 treadwear tire (not the softest) I always run with the ESP on!

I have run all my times with ESP on and never once in Dyno mode or ESP off. I ran my 3 best launches back to back with ESP on - 1.659, 1.664, and 1.666. With that said I totally agree with Chiro, it makes no difference except for that little extra piece of mind of having ESP on.
