This is a good asking price and I agree it won't last. It seems like it is missing keyless go and third row seat, TPMS, and Distronic, but you may not care.
Unfortunately, I'm hearing Chrysler is no longer selling warranties? You may want to check.
Good luck.
Thanks. I'm gonna take a look at it tomorrow morning. I already put my offer in. I need to run a check on the car also. If it was taken care of and didn't have alot of issues........
BTW-Capri blue is awesome!!!

I see conflicting reports on wheather the car has a warranty or not. It looks like it has had some electrical faults in its history which also concern me. I don't like buying higher end imports without a warranty so I'm pausing.....
They did concede that they would allow me to have the car looked over at my local Mercedes dealership which I thought was a good thing.
Another thing was that the carfax never showed the car being registered, just constant service and maintenance at a local dealership.
Thoughts?
What do most of AMGers run for winter rubber? All-seasons, dedicated snow wheels/tires, or just swap tires on their existing wheels? I know when I lived in Germany we all use to convert over to steel wheels and dedicated snows, but I can't find any steel wheels that fit the E55/E63.

If any non-Mercedes dealer wouldn't allow you to take it for a PPI at a MB dealer I would walk away immediately.
Where did you get the info on the electrical issues? Carfax? There's no detail there and unless you had the MB dealer run a history I wouldn't read too much into that either........ It's been my experience that Carfax is pretty much useless and on more than several occiasions been inaccurate. I'd also run an autocheck to verify any history.
I have a set of 18" Michelin snows that appear to be almost new that I'm selling if anyone is interested. They came with the car and I have no use for them..... PM if you're interested. Buy a used set of stock wheels and put the snows on them?
I didn't have the inspection done yet, and I was the first person who had looked at the car (10:15a.m.) yesterday. I know that they said that some other folks expressed an interest.
I know its harder to get an aftermarket warranty on these cars since Chrysler seems kinda tight in right now.
I have a bead on an 07 E63 that is CPOed at a good price.

Having said that, if and when the supply of good used AMG wagons improves one day, has anyone done any analysis of whether the 6.2 litre model is better/worse/same as the 5.5 litre? Yes, newer is usually better, but sometimes the premium that one has to pay for the latest version isn't justified. Is either engine considered more reliable than the other? Are these engines so highly tuned that they are like hand grenades waiting to detonate as soon as the warranty expires or are they blessed with the same longevity as their lesser MBZ bretherin?
Also, does anyone out there agree with me that the quad exhaust tips look stupid on these cars? In my NSHO the AMG wagons should be stripped of all the boy racer trim and made to look as plain vanilla as possible so that they blend in with all the other soccer mom cars. What's the point of having a stealth vehicle if it has shiny chrome badges screaming "SUPERCHARGED 63" on the side?

1. Search the forum and you will come across many threads between the engines
2. Quad exhaust is AMG
3. The Wagon itself means 'sleeper'
4. You can always debage and mod to fit your needs
I don't ever want to be confused with a "soccer mom" b/c I'm not!
Not that it matters but how old are you?
The supply is going to be very constrained as I suspect most wagon owners are like me. The prices have gone down to a level that I don't plan on ever selling it. Will I replace it with something newer? Sure. But then it will just go into its spot in the garage to be driven occasionally, but forever.
Why sell it.
And, no, the quad tips are perfect.
And there is not supercharged 6.3L. Search still needs to be your friend
However, I took the car on it's first road trip with my wife and child over Thanksgiving and was thoroughly pleased with it. My wife was in the back with our son and said his face was priceless when I hit the accelerator to merge onto the highway.
Great fun to be able to haul the family and still have fun driving.Just purchased my first mod...an E63 style steering wheel with full size paddle shifters. Can't wait to get that sucka installed!

Will a 28"(H) x 27"(W) x 35(D)" box will fit in the back of a wagon? Is the opening big enough and will the seats fold down level enough? Will the hatch close? If not, how much more (approx) space is needed? With the rear seats NOT folded down and the hatch partially closed, will a good portion of the box fit inside enough to drive a SHORT distance - say 2 miles max?
Will a 26.5"(H) x 27"(W) x 36"(D) box fit?
The larger box fits in an '08 Lexus RX350 with the rear seats folded down and the hatch closed. I know it is silly, but I'd like to know how much utility the wagon give up in space.
If you must know, those dimensions are for a Kenmore/Maytag dryer without the box. But how cool would that be to stuff a Kenmore into the rear of a wagon with the hatch closed

The smaller (height wise) box will fit in the new A6 Audi Avant albeit with the hatch open. The rear seats don't fold down flat enough so the vertical height clearance is compromised a few inches when the box is slid towards the back edge of the seat and to the front of the car.
No rush fellas. Thanks in advance
Sorry for the blurry camera phone picture.Height wise it is 30" high at the middle of the opening and 28" at the sides. Once you get inside the ceiling rises to 32" at the middle. At the ceiling the width is about 37".

I don't fold the back seat much because I have to take the child seat out, but it goes flat because the seat bottoms flip forward. One nasty surprise I didn't expect is that the front seats have to be moved forward from where I normally have them to fold the back seat flat. This is tied into the computer so when you unlatch the rear seats, the fronts move forward automatically. It is a little awkward to drive with them that far forward and I'm not particularly tall. If you fold the back seats I'm guessing you would get another 20" of floor space.

Platinum Blue Metallic with black/blue two-tone interior. Headliner is light grey. We are second owners; original owners were a couple from the Cleveland area who are doctors at the Cleveland Clinic. This E55 wagon is probably one of the cleanest 30k mile cars I've ever seen with just a couple chips on the front end and no mechanical issues. Mileage at ~31,500, all original paint (checked w/paint meter) and nicely equipped. Keyless go, mulit-contour heated/cooled seats plus all the usual stuff. I have a 5 year Chrysler warranty that can be purchased seperately if desired. Car will be sold with the original wheels or the 20" AMG reps at buyers option/price. The only thing besides the wheels I've done to it is the window tint which is 35% all the way around. Price is $39,500 with original wheels and $41,500 with 20" AMG reps. If buyer wants the warranty it will be on top of the sales price or I'll cash it in. Not sure exactly but I think the warranty is about $3800. I will verify that number. Pictures scattered throughout this thread.
sorry man. 3 weeks ago, I'd have told you we weren't going to part with it. My wife and I have had 60+ cars in the past 18 years and it's usually a spur of the momment kind of thing.... We had an S8 b/f the E55 and really miss it so I think we're going to find another.....
