Platinum Blue Metallic E55 Wagon
My wife and I just bought this car a few days ago. It has 30k miles in Platinum Blue Metallic with Black and Blue two-tone interior. Options include Premium Pkg, Lighting Pkg, Phone Equipment, TPMS, 3rd Row Seat, Burl Walnut and Keyless go. It was previously owned by a couple who are Doctors at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, OH. My guess is this car was professionally detailed on a regluar basis and didn't see much snow/salt if any at all. It's just soooooo clean!
After the purchase, we bought a 5 year 70k mile Chrylser warranty from Todd Ronan (you'll find his contact info in this thread: https://mbworld.org/forums/sl55-amg-...-provider.html)
When I washed it last night my micro fiber towels felt like they were being picked when I wiped down the hood and top. So today I gave it the Clay bar and wax treatment! The paint on this car is in remarkably good shape given the 30k miles on the odo. With the exception of a couple minor rock chips on the front the paint is like glass! I LOVE this color, nothing against silver, black or white (actually have two of those colors.....) but this is really unique IMHO of course.
My only issue is the brakes shimmy at highway speeds when you step on the pedal. New rotors, pads, sensors already ordered to replace.
Also installed a flat hood emblem and 20" AMG 2 pc. reps are on the way. Will also get the windows tinted.
Here's a couple after clay bar and wax:

Love it! Nice to see another owner with blue/charcoal seats, the 2006 sedan that I just picked up a week ago also has these, I hadn't seen them before.
Enjoy it- to me this is still the ultimate sleeper especially in that 'classy' unassuming color. Fantastic

dayum that looks super clean. the worlds ultimate sleeper? Love the colour - its like a cross between the ice silver and flint grey. You are going to have fun smoking 90% of other cars out there......you should get some numberplates which say "WTF"

Beautiful. The wagon is the rarest of the E55. I have NEVER seen another one
Most versatile 7-passenger vehicle that can rip 12 second quarter miles all day!
Enjoy

E55 wagon, Porsche 550 replica
You will love the wagon. I have had an awesome 20k miles in mine since I got it. I have never seen another one on the road.
The blue/charcoal must be extremely rare when you factor in that it is a wagon also. Does the blue/charcoal have blue stitching? I have the merlot/charcoal in my wagon and it is a nice subtle touch that the stitching is merlot also.
(I should have shut the back door before I took this picture)

2006 E55 Wagon (RIP), 2019 E63S Wagon (Sold) 2023 AMG GT634S
That car is gorgeous!
I was late to the party and found a black E55 in late 2006 (new) so was limited in my choices. Had I had more to choose from - YOUR color would have been at the top of my list - it's striking.
I have a very poor track record keeping cars. I am closing in the 3 years. A record. And I still can't find anything I want to replace this car. It's as cool to drive and as fun to drive as the first day I picked it up at MB of Manhattan.
I have the MB 7 years 100K mile warranty and plan on using every bit of it.
This car rocks.
Your photos make me realize I need to spend some quality time with the clay bar and polish.
Congrats again - GREAT car.

Like everything about it other than that wood interior. The dark wood would look a million times better.

Thanks guys for all the great comments! I still can't get over what great shape the paint is in. It sure is easier maintianing a car when you start in this condition. My wife and I have had 60+ cars in 17 years and usually buy them new or with VERY low miles so when we bought this 30k mile AMG sight unseen I was pleasantly surprised when I laid eyes on it. I've always said when it comes to buying used cars; I'd like to find someone like myself to buy used cars from. This car definitely fits that bill!
I plan to in the next few days as soon as I get the wheels back from the body shop. The SL is an example of the type of cars we normally buy, it had just 420 miles when I picked it up in Dothan, AL. Drove it home so now it has ~1000 miles......
I would have to agree that the dark wood would look better but as you know, you cannot spec a used car......

With only 129 2005 E55 Wagons there's probably not many this color. Were you looking at this car while it was FS at MB of Bedford? I know there were a couple other people trying to buy it as well.

Very nice and rare.
I've also got the 2 tone blue interior and have never seen another with that same scheme in person (I know they exist, just haven't seen them). Very subtle but nice interior touch.

04 - 06 e55 Wagon - looking for
Very nice I've seen that color around here on an AMG wagon and it does look great and classy. Do you think black hides the lines of the wagon? I think Silver and your color too look great. Anybody else struggle with car color on the wagon? Mercedes always features silver. I think black hides the lines and since the wagon is rare people have no clue that it is an e series amg wagon. Please post pics of the wheels and update us on your suspension settings once they are installed!

Can't wait to see your new wheels on the SL. I am thinking of getting the same wheels for E63, would really like to see what it looks like on a Benz! Please hurry!
