The last time i got a speeding was 6yrs ago doing 75/45 on rt7 by Great Falls in my 99 Civic Si. But i pulled over before the FFX cop could turn on his sirens, pull out to get me. He cut me a break for him not chasing me down and reduced it to 64/45.

Didn't know the fine was $5/mile over, since the last ticket i got years ago was $3/mile over. So was a $130 ticket..luckily i had 10 "good" points that offset the 6 pt ticket.

Only advice besides lawyer would be to take a Defense driving class to offset the R/D ticket in points for insurance purposes.

By the way, that attorney site I visted stated that even if you are in a 65 posted zone, and you are at 81 or higher, YOU WILL BE CHARGED WITH RECKLESS. Reason, MORE money for them, even though you are only 16 above. They also posted typical jail times, which were higher for reckless than, drug position, first time DUI, Grand theft auto. Yeah that makes sense.

What a lovely state
Tell me about it but I still love to live here. everything that is over 80 is reckless, everything that is over 20 is reckless. Driving on a parking lot by crossing parking rows is reckless. everything!

VA cops suck. i went to VA beach in May and they don't let people stand on the sidewalk lol. you either have to walk or stand against the wall lol. also cant curse on the street ( i am from philly lol). i put the V1 the glove box and drove the speed limit.

I quite a collection speeding tickets, all of which are not really "speeding tickets" because I was not trying to drive fast at the time nor was the speed excessive.

1) 72/50 in Brooklyn
2) 95/55 in Long Island (Cop told me he was making it 80/55 because I would have legal issues otherwise... nice guy)
3) 92/55 in Long Island (Late at night was not paying attention and just pressed the gas pedal a bit too hard)
4) 70/55 on the Taconic Parkway

I wont get into my actual speeds but lets just say my best ticket:

Officer: "I have been chasing you for 3 miles"

When he pulled me, I was going the limit though.

Second the notion... don't drive through VA... I was there just a couple summers ago, for a conference near the capital. Driving to MD a lot... Bethesda and McLean... never knew that 80 would be R/D... in CA it's over 100mph. Good to know. My rental was a Hyundai... maybe that was to my good fortune... next time I will make sure I rent a crummy car so i can't drive that fast... otherwise, poor CA leadfood syndrome sets in and I'll be facing this whole mess... sorry man, get a lawyer!

You should try http://www.tixnix.com/

I used them here in Texas, got the ticket erased, and got 90 days probation on getting another ticket... I think it cost me $400ish, well worth it.
