First id like to say that Thank God you are not seriously injured.
Second - Imagine my shock, all 55 motor owners suggest you get back into another one or the CLS55.. I've driven both, the E63 is a far better car than the E55. Looks,Styling,Front end,Seats,Rims,Better 0-60 times, etc, etc.
Take care dude. Good luck on what ever you choose.

Glad to hear you walked away.
A careful look at your car pics shows that your beautiful car did its job and sacrificed its self for you. (As it should!) As you know, there is always another car out there!
I would listen to the words that others have posted. Injuries can show up later, days, weeks, and months later. I have worked long in the medical career field and can’t tell you how many times people have come back a week later after walking out of the ED/Trauma feeling ok.
Good luck in your car search. And as Jermey Clarkson says, go for tourques!

I join the rest of the gang, and will pour libation to your health. In my opinion, you cannot go wrong whichever ride you choose...depending on the options that matter to you.

Glad to see you are OK. I vote another E55 (I did it).
To the guy that says E63 is better and then even names seats, LOL!! How are your active dynamics treating you? LOL!!!

The CLS is smaller on the inside but larger on the front end and is 400lbs heavier (front end). If you are going to get an E55 make sure it is an 06 (built in '06) so that it will compare to the CLS in parts. if not, the CLS will drive better due to upgraded steering rack, shocks, etc.

Damn, glad you hear the car did its job and you came out okay.
I vote E63/E55, I can't get into the CLS, puny looking rear end, amongst other things, and tiring and awkward to to look at too much, IMHO. I've seen some hot ones, and it can look pretty stunning at some angles, but overall it's a "miss" to me, personally.
This might be out of the price range, but I'd suggest a W221 as well, if you're okay with the size, and dig the styling of course.

Soooo....
I was driving to a friends house last tuesday night when a guy in a Toyota Landcruiser ran a red light and t-boned my 55. He hit me on the driver's side rear door going about 40-45 mph. As I was going through the intersection, I thought that I saw something so I look to my left and see this Landcruiser barreling towards me and about 5 ft away! When he hit me, it spun my car into a curb, I went a little airborne, and stopped in the same lane I was traveling except I was facing the wrong direction. The impact of the curb bent the passenger side wheel pretty good.
My car was completely immobile so I put my flashers on. Thankfully there was a witness who was sitting at the redlight (the one the toyota was supposed to stop at) who saw the whole thing and stayed to be a witness for me.
As we were exchanging information and waiting for the police and a tow truck, we see a car starting to turn into the lane that my car is sitting (flashers and lights still on). We begin to yell "STOP!" and wave our arms trying to stop the driver but the girl drives right into the front of my car going about 10mph. It was honestly like something out of movie... This woman jumps out of her car and starts screaming that I am a "stupid f***ing cracker b*tch", yelling other obscenities, pacing around, and then starts saying "Im gonna get yo money stupid cracka b*tch, I finna go to the hospital". Absolutely unreal.
When the police arrived and heard everything, they said that I did not do anything wrong and none of this was my fault. They also said that they recognized the girl from the second car from a drug bust or something of that sort.
Luckily no one was seriously injured. The guy in the Landcruiser is completely fine and I have some lower back and neck pain which is hopefully just whiplash (results from x-rays and tests come tomorrow).
Anyway, I got a call from the insurance company today telling me that the car is indeed totaled.
I am thinking about going for an '07 E63 or maybe going after an '06 CLS55.
I am wondering what you guys think about the CLS55 and the E63, coming from an E55?
I am open to all testimonials, ideas and thoughts. Let me know what you guys think!

Jeez...I am glad you were not seriously injured. Make sure you get thoroughly checked out by a doctor even if you think you are ok.
If that were to happen to me and I was getting into another AMG...
CLS55 > E55 > CLS63 > E63
Even though I love my E55, I always loved the lines of the CLS55. Second, the torque is my master and that is why I ranked the 55 over the 63's.

And I sceond that list, for all of the above reasons.
Just need to add two more
S65 > S600 > CLS55 > E55 > CLS63 > E63

Glad to hear you are ok.
But one thing to think about as many here have discussed. This thing is worth a mint in parts.
Just the engine alone!
HID headlights.
Dynamic seats, right? Bet there are some E63 guys might want to retrofit.
You have 3 good wheels, anyone looking for a full size spare?
Good luck. I do like my E63.

Glad you are ok after that.
The CLS looks great no question there. It is however 200 lbs heavier and you feel it when you drive the car. But those looks are hard to pass up!

LOL! I'm sure when she saw the E55 in the same lane facing her she must thought (ching-ching) until she realized the car was just T-Boned after she hit it!!!

Hey guys,
First off, thanks for all the get well wishes. I'm getting better by the day but still experiencing some resonating pain.
At this point I don't think that I'm going to buy the car back. I simply don't have the time to deal with parting or anything like that. However, I will find out where the car is going and get a phone number so that you guys can try to get whatever parts you are looking for (seems like the dark wood is in high demand).
I am still in the search for a new car and I think I'm leaning towards the CLS... I'll keep you posted.
