E55 Totaled (Pics included)
Soooo....
I was driving to a friends house last tuesday night when a guy in a Toyota Landcruiser ran a red light and t-boned my 55. He hit me on the driver's side rear door going about 40-45 mph. As I was going through the intersection, I thought that I saw something so I look to my left and see this Landcruiser barreling towards me and about 5 ft away! When he hit me, it spun my car into a curb, I went a little airborne, and stopped in the same lane I was traveling except I was facing the wrong direction. The impact of the curb bent the passenger side wheel pretty good.
My car was completely immobile so I put my flashers on. Thankfully there was a witness who was sitting at the redlight (the one the toyota was supposed to stop at) who saw the whole thing and stayed to be a witness for me.
As we were exchanging information and waiting for the police and a tow truck, we see a car starting to turn into the lane that my car is sitting (flashers and lights still on). We begin to yell "STOP!" and wave our arms trying to stop the driver but the girl drives right into the front of my car going about 10mph. It was honestly like something out of movie... This woman jumps out of her car and starts screaming that I am a "stupid f***ing cracker b*tch", yelling other obscenities, pacing around, and then starts saying "Im gonna get yo money stupid cracka b*tch, I finna go to the hospital". Absolutely unreal.
When the police arrived and heard everything, they said that I did not do anything wrong and none of this was my fault. They also said that they recognized the girl from the second car from a drug bust or something of that sort.
Luckily no one was seriously injured. The guy in the Landcruiser is completely fine and I have some lower back and neck pain which is hopefully just whiplash (results from x-rays and tests come tomorrow).
Anyway, I got a call from the insurance company today telling me that the car is indeed totaled.
I am thinking about going for an '07 E63 or maybe going after an '06 CLS55.
I am wondering what you guys think about the CLS55 and the E63, coming from an E55?
I am open to all testimonials, ideas and thoughts. Let me know what you guys think!

Jeez...I am glad you were not seriously injured. Make sure you get thoroughly checked out by a doctor even if you think you are ok.
If that were to happen to me and I was getting into another AMG...
CLS55 > E55 > CLS63 > E63
Even though I love my E55, I always loved the lines of the CLS55. Second, the torque is my master and that is why I ranked the 55 over the 63's.

Glad nobody was seriously hurt. Take care of the back and leg thing as that stuff can linger and back pain is no fun.
Any idea where the car will go from here? I'm looking for some dark wood trim......

glad to hear you're OK.
I think the second lady probably saw the wreck, and ran into your car on purpose hoping to get some insurance money. Looks like she owned herself though.

Indeed, indeed. The 55's torque delivery is way more exhilerating than that of the 63's. I would absolutely go for the E55 as the replacement.

Glad you are OK! That was a pretty good hit so, don't sign any release, until you are sure that you have no problem. A friend of mine thought he was OK a few weeks after his accident (much the same as yours) and signed away what turned in to a huge health/legal problem.
Did this happen in Florida?

The accident took place in Tampa, FL.
I'm not sure yet where the car will be going after it is released but I will definitely let you guys know when I find out (should be about a week or so).
As for the medical issue, I am currently going to a doctor who specializes in non-surgical treatment and therapy. He does a lot of work with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers so I feel pretty safe in his hands.
Back to the cars... How does the CLS ride in comparison to the E? It seems to be a little bigger and I'm wondering if it feels a little more, eh, boat-ish (for lack of a better term)?
It also looks like it is a little more luxurious and the seats are a little more plump and comfortable... maybe thats just the muscle relaxers

I'm glad to hear you're ok, the E absorbed the impact well as a Landcruiser is no lightweight at all. Make sure you are 100% sure you have no injuries or lasting effects. As for changing vehicles, another E55 or CLS55 would be a great choice, as many stated the torque the 55K motor has is insane and it wouldn't make sense to downgrade torque by getting a 63 model when a 55K is available. If you really want to step the game up, a CL65 would really be upping the ante especially when some go for mid 40s or any V12 TT would be great to be honest. One of the most sickest sleepers IMHO is the S600. Not even AMG badging or quad exhaust but yet smoking many things on the street with ease, especially if an ECU tune is on it.

Ouch, glad you are ok. Can you buy the "wreck" from the insurer? My old man's GT3 was totalled a few years ago and was a rightoff and I ended up buying it back from the wrecker for 20 grand and parted it out for 50.....

First of all...glad to hear you are okay!
Second... get either the 55k motor again or look for the TT models...ie 600 or 65.
If you get the 63...you will definitely miss the torque...
