Yes, I agree... can you imagine how I felt when I had to move away from my W211! It basically came down to M5 or S6. M5s are really nice cars, but they are all over the place and I just can't stand the idea of not being able to launch the car of the line. I am not a fan of the current SMG gear box at all, so S6 was the next logical choice. Hopefully in the next 2 years I will have more choices. In the mean time the S6 is getting tons of well deserved attention. 
While there is no denying that is a very nice car, it does not stir my emtions like a W210 or W211 E55. I do really like Audi's interiors, but their reliability (especially if you are in it for the long haul) it **** poor no matter if you drive a A4 or a S8. The new generic jelly bean exterior does not really make the car stand out and give the car presence unfortunately.
