I also drove down early to Kurt`s private mustang dyno in Victoria tx. ; mainly to see Busa196 S65 get Jerry tuned but also get a pull or two on my car.

I have the same mods as last year but an updated shelf tune from LET. Custom tune will come later, as I am still adding Lt`s and a few other things.. Last fall, with same mods and ET listed in my signature, I was at 475-477 RWHP and 512-514 TQ@ 3800 rpm. Never got a peak TQ reading as sampling started at 3800 rpm.

I dyno for tuning , my own baseline numbers and do not ICE down motor or anything else that may enhance my paper numbers from day to day driving. My track ET times are also on street tires and the way I drive the car everyday..

I drove 1.5 hours and engine temp was at 180 deg and Iat stayed about 17 over ambient (93 iat) the whole way. I got to the dyno, did not open the hood and maybe let the car sit 30 minutes to talk and tie down car. Hood was then opened, fans blowing on H/E and made two quick pulls. One to blow the cats out and the next for my posted numbers.. I was suprised to see 500.8 RWHP and 528 TQ @ 3800 rpm starting sampling rate

For those of you that are unsure about a shelf tune, the latest from Jerry is damn solid and great /safe power. Car drives smooth and 180mm pulley transition is smooth! My A/F ratio is leaner than stock but still very safe in the 11.4 range. I have about 15 RWHP more to gain from a custom tune but more than happy right now, until the new bolt on arrive.. using the same bolt ons as last hear, I picked up 25 RWHP and 15TQ above the curve and from 3800 rpm on.

Oh yeah, my second pull IAT`s were at 120 deg on the start and I hit the dreaded 145 IAT @ 6000 rpm and timing pulled hard. You can see on the graph, as the line drops.. Will avoid that next time..

good numbers.

I have the same "updated" tune from Jerry.

I had it flashed in August, and the torque is much nicer at the lower revs.

Power delivery is much smoother and stronger.

My previous dyno jet numbers were about 480WHP and I only have 178mm and HE/pump upgrade

I can see why you got to 500RWHP with TB

500@3800 got to love the torque in the basement!!!

Victoria, That brings back some memories,
Spent more than a few days anchored up in the
Victoria barge canal as hurricanes blew through.
Back in the day.

It's great to see safe, reliable and yet a powerful smooth tune being done. Great numbers, 500rwhp is sick and that torque reading would of been much higher if the reading started much lower in the rpm band.

Yes, that is on my new/old motor 04 E55 motor with 39K on everything but some bearings, pistons, rings and a few gaskets. The tune`s just keep getting better/smoother and a lot more paramaters can be adjusted now..

I drove around for 2K and then Jerry flew to Houston , flashed the car, and power /TQ really came to life. Normal driving also improved a lot and the car feels better than it ever has.. I have at least 25HP more and estimated 40 more peak TQ to go to the track with, over last years power..

4500 miles now and running great.. I Hope to have LT`s on soon but not many parts out there for this Phat CL body!

I am still not happy with 17 deg. over ambient IAT`s. I feel with the extra water capacity, that I need more pump flow. Shardul is runing that Bad **** Meziare pump and is showing 8-10 over ambient. Time to test..

My pulls were always in 3rd gear. What difference is everyone seeing between 3rd and the 1to1 ratio of 4th?

Glad ya'll were able to stop by last weekend Brooke. Always a good time when ya'll stop by.

Stop by this weekend if you have time, Shardul will have his car down here making a couple pulls on the dyno.

Now, that I know (thanks to Jerry) how to keep the car from down shifting below 3500 will make a couple pulls starting at 2200 next time your down so we can get your peak torque number.
