Whoever has printed the biggest number gets the left lane immediately. No if's and's or but's.
That won't work, as only big *****s hog the left lane.

Luckily, Karma is a *****, and one day the car they refuse to move over for will be an unmarked unit, and the cop driving it would have just found his wife was cheating on him with some ***** that drives a Benz...

(The car is an S class, blacked out and debadged and italic number plates - which are illegal here).

I move over slowly - as he is being an a$$ and let him pass - In this instance I gave him a reasonably impolite gesture.... he wanted to have an argument through his passenger window at 70mph, which I did not entertain. Anyhow 0.5mile later he takes the exit... wtf was his rush?

Now if the guy came up behind me but maintained a reasonable following distance I would have a) moved over sooner , and b) surely would not have provided the free impolite gesture.

So my question is ...

What would you have done?

I had half a mind to pull over and have a face to face with the POS.
This is your OP. The thread got a bit out of hand. And I think partly because it's also one of those 'why is the sky blue?' sort of things.

Unless you started driving only yesterday, or you've been living on some sort of Nirvana Island somewhere, you know the answer to your own question.

We all experience this stuff every day out there on the road. It's not news. One just has to learn how to deal with it. For me getting angry doesn't work, so I let it just slide off my back. I live in Los Angeles and I'd be either dead by gunshot or cardiac arrest if I let every one of these commonplace events get to me. Life's too short. And my energy needs to be spent on worthwhile things and not some idiot stranger I've never met and will never see again. It's simply a waste of time and whatever I do will not rid that person of their ill behavior.

In the meantime, we should always try to be good ambassadors out there on the road in our MBs. MB owners have an unfortunate stereotype so let's not promote it or add to it.

The cop isn't going to NOT write me a ticket because I tell him I was being a nice guy and speeding up to let someone else go by.
Your first problem is using cruise control in an E55. C'mon man!

And to the OP, if another car has already come up to you in the left lane, that means you've been there too long. As stated before in this thead, driving in the left lane is illegal unless you are passing (in the US). For all you know, the person behind you could have been rushing is pregant wife to the hospital or had some other medical emergency. Also, by passing slowly in the left lane, many cars can get queued up and this can block ambualnces and law enforcement vehicles that you may never see because you've held up too many cars.

So, for all the minority left lane coasters out there, please move over.

And for those who need to pass a left lane coaster, try putting this on the windshield: REVO EVOM

I see more and more people in Priuses, etc., doing the the left lane nanny move.

Then the next one passes me at 80+ because they don't use any gas/petrol and hence can claim their virtue. Unfortunately if they need to pass at that speed while cruising it takes 20 minutes for the motor to get wound up enough to get out of the way of emergency vehicles, etc.

They are the ones who should pay extra taxes since they like nanny government rather than our group.

LOL usually quite the contrary...it's a guy "compensating" for something in his expensive car, or jacked up lifted pickup truck, or just a jackass that thinks he can set the speed limit for everyone else

Seriously dude lol. Typing angrily at your computer screen won't get you anywhere in life.

I got an idea... For all you here who obviously think you have the right to tell other people where and how to drive (works both ways gents) why don't you just PIT every car in your way? You talk a big talk here so go walk the big walk chief.

So I'm driving up the highway this evening running 73 in a 65 zone. I see a Toyota minivan coming up behind me running a few mph faster. So what would you do in this situation?
1. Adjust your speed and slide over to let him pass.
2. Refuse to move over because you are already exceeding the speed limit.
3. Slow down
4. Speed up

I chose to speed up slightly and slide over in a break in traffic, let off the throttle a touch, allowed him to pass and then pulled back behind him and continue to pass cars in the RH lane. Voila, everyone was happy and there was no need to resort to guns, throwing objects from the car, hand gestures or the like.

I am not trying to sound like a total d!ck, but read this forum more closely before making such comments. We all understood by this thread, that we have couple jack asses on this board. Unfortunately, this thread won't teach other people what is a driving ethics and how it works, but I think people should stop with: "Typing angrily at your computer screen won't get you anywhere in life. " I will give you a hint, at least try searching by a user name who posted an "angrily comment", then may be some of you will understand more.

Again, unfortunately we have many people that don't understand that!

But you're doing a fine job.

You have every nasty name in the book for me, but you don't know a thing about me. All you know is a post I made on an internet forum. For all you know I could have saved you or a family members life one day in my line of work... Giving off such bad vibes is just wrong. Good things happen to good people Karlson, take the higher road.

No, don't be sorry! Yeah, thread went wrong direction, but we are here to have fun, conversation and sharing ideas. We are getting different opinions, some of them are outrageous, but it is experience bobgodd, I got nothing else to say about your posts, you already proved it to everyone with your ideas.

There are some ridiculously immature people on this board. They are the ones that embarrass MB'ers everywhere, far more than any of the so-called "*****s." Its the people that drive public roads/fwys at speeds well in excess of the posted limits that embarrass us. Unfortunately, there is strength in numbers and these people have begun to out-number the mature and respectful users who add value here.

Well when did you get here on your high horse! The question was asked what would you do. The logical, normal, respectful, smart, legal thing to do when you are in the left lane of a freeway consisting of 2 or more lanes in the same direction is to move to the right and let people pass. So if you are doing 65 mph on the nose and I want to do 75 mph, move over. I would not say that gives anyone a bad image. What does give a bad image is when you park your dumbass in the left lane and do not move over. No one here said excessive speed, just normal traffic. So if you want to come in the midde of a conversation get it straight before you call people "*****s". Its obvious you are part of the other crowd that drives like a retard and slows the left lane down because you are a cop wana be or just completely drive like a jackass.

I didn't call anyone a *****. Thanks.

I'm not against disabled people driving if they can pass the same driving qualificatoin tests as able-bodied people do.

Sorry - just venting.

Feel better now.

Its best to let them be and leave them alone... One thing about these incidents is not to escalate them... they can get bad real quick.

I would not throw anything at the cars - the brake test is nice but I would without doubt have been rear ended he was so close I doubt he would have seen my lights.

The problem is no one really wants to back down to a tool... and I guess the dilemma of what to do is whats the most infuriating.

There are some really cool new weapons being tested by the Military. You can see this stuff on the Military Channel.

My favorite is the top 10 Sniper rifles

They are also coming out with a new light weight flamethrower too

Anyway one of these would work!!!

Tail gating is probably the number one reason for road rage incidents.

Stay safe!!!
