Major Props to Cory@Kleemann (Again!)

Good evening folks,

I'd like to again share a positive experience with Cory@Kleemann.

I got the K1 on my cls55 several months ago and was, and still am, very impressed with the power gains (no dyno, only butt dyno). Cory was first class through the whole process. (I had started a thread about this a few months back giving Cory props).

Anyway, I don't drive the car much, maybe 500 miles since the K1, because I have a commuter car for work and my cls basically sits in the garage collecting dust. A few weeks ago however, my car threw a CEL. I contacted Cory, thinking/assuming that possibly the K1 ecu tune had caused the CEL. Immediately Cory responded and extended every offer to help fix the problem if it did in fact turn out to be a problem related to the tuned ECU, (which at that point was merely a guess on my part).

He told me to get a OBDII scan and get him the fault code so he could help. I went to an independent MB repair shop near where I live that tried to charge me $120 to get the fault code! I then called Cory back and he said absolutely NOT to pay $120 for a 5 minute job, and that local auto supply places should do it for little-no-charge. I called around and ended up taking it to the local Pep Boys and they did it for FREE! So, on top of Cory being completely accountable and willing to fix ANY PROBLEM related to the K1, he also saved me $120 in the process!

Long story short, it turned out that it was a P0410 "secondary air injection malfunction" and was fixed by a MB dealership under warranty!

BTW, I also had an extremely "good" experience with the MB dealership that I took the car to. So if anyone in So Cal/Los Angeles area needs a "good" dealership and would like the details, please PM me.

So, thanks again Cory & Kleemann. You sir, are the BEST!

i'm not a mechanic by any means, but from what i understand, it is a pump that injects air into the exhaust during cold start, until the engine is warmed up, and momentarily during warm start. it is part of the emissions/smog system, and is apparently a pretty common failure on the 55K cars. And yes, your buddy's cl55 should have one as well.

Blackkompressor do you know What is the fix to p0140 secondery air injection pump, do you have to replace the pump or is it something else.

From my understanding P0410 "secondary air injection malfunction" code can either be a bad pump itself, or there is a relay switch and other wiring associated with the pump that can go bad, thus also causing the fault code. Or so I was told by my SA at the dealership.

In my case, I believe the pump itself was broken.

HTH.
