2005 E55
Shopping for E55

I have found a 2005 E55 with 17k miles that is CPO. The vehicle is out of state and I have not actually seen it, but the dealer describes it as perfect (of course). Does $38k seem like a decent deal, or is that a bit much for a 2005?

A CPO E55 AMG with 17k miles sounds great. Do you know what kind of options it has. The fully equipped E55 in 2005 could have run just under $100k back in 2005. It's about to be 5 years old in 3 months so I would definetly try to work on a better deal then that especially if it doesn't have every option. I will tell you though you will LOVE this car. You get incredible power and a luxury vehicle all in one.

For comparison I bought my 04 E55 for $52k 2 years ago this month and it had 19k miles with every option and it was still under warranty. It was 3 years old turning 4. I love my car every bit !!! good luck

04 - 06 e55 Wagon - looking for
Not bad for CPO if fully loaded i.e., distronic, keylessgo, TPSM (even though some say TPSM is finicky), and third row rear facing seat options). Also try to get extended warranty since CPO only goes for so long past in service date. Good luck!

2005 E55
The car does not have distronic, keyless go, dynamic seats, or the panoramic roof. The prices on these cars seem to be all over the place. There is another E55 locally that is in great shape that does have bluetooth, keyless go, and the trunk closer. The local car is $35k, but it is not under warranty. The warranties for these cars are outrageous.

When I bought my S55 a few years ago it came with an 8 yr/100k starmark warranty. The MB warranty for the CPO E55 I am looking at is $4k for a total of 3 years/100k miles. For the local car I can get a Carchex warranty (through Royal) that is good for 5 yrs/100k for about $5500.

I now have 38K on the car and the only things that have had had to be fixed/updated are:

torque bushing
driver climate control and AC recharge
front bushings - suspension piece (i forget the actual name)
new alignment

total covered by warranty was $1975

Other than that nothing besides tires due to a heavy foot off the line!!!

All these things just got fixed 2-3 weeks ago.

Had the SC belt replaced too way back when due to slippage/chirp.

Car has been a champ - love it to this day. Still feels like a new car everytime I get behind the wheel.

And I bought my car sight unseen from CO from a MB Dealer.

2005 E55
I've decided to purchase the 2005 that is local with 35k miles. The car has a few of the options I wanted (such as bluetooth and keyless go), and I didn't feel like going out of state and being disappointed. I'm paying $35k for the car and it is flawless. I did look into getting a 5yr/70k mile Chrysler Service Contract - Maximum Care warranty for $2885. As long as the car passes the required inspection I will buy it.

I have read a lot of the older posts related to the Chrysler warranty, but I just want to make sure people are still happy with theirs.

I also have one question. Do all E55's have an auxillary input for mp3 players?

2013 E63 Performance Package
I bought the Chrysler warranty for my 04 E55 with 46k from Todd (mentioned here on the boards). He was great, I had my contract number instantly, and received my contract in the mail about 2 weeks later.

I had to have an inspection that cost me $150. The dealer said that the Chrysler warranty is the best. They have never had a problem with the Chrysler warranty for claims.

Good luck!
