I have noticed in other threads that people recommend D-sport mode for the transmission. why would you prefer this over M? I have noticed that the gears change quicker on M than on S.

No just keep it in D-sport. Off the line your not going to want to just smash it you have to ease into it , your not really gonna learn how to launch by some one telling you. You will have to make some passes and find you sweet spot and you'll catch on soon thats how I had to learn

As for now don't worry about what anyone tells you, just go out and have fun and then come back and tell us how you did and then we can help you from there. Remember to keep you time slips so we can see where you could pick up some time. Enjoy yourself and be safe.

my recomandation is D - Sport but when hit the + at a very good time to make it change between 1st and 2nd @ 6000rpm. and then let it change by it self from 2nd to 3rd.
or change it @ 6300rpm.
or change it @ 6300rpm.

If you don't get your launch down in the E55, he will get smoked. The new PDK's are no joke.

okay guys, I went for the drag event...
I had no grip whatsoever. even if I started slow for the first 2 seconds, then flooring still caused massive wheelspin. I think it was the treatment of the first 60-80 feet of the start since I could tell that as soon as I left the are I had good grip. My best 60 foot time was 2.5 seconds and 1/8 mile 9.3 seconds-I know it sucks, but I think I was loosing at least 1.5 seconds on spinning. Anyway the Porsche did not show, but I had some good races even if I did not have grip.

Ok I'm back and I'm surprised no one else has offered advice.
1. get rid of the passenger (gets rid of the audio commentary)
2. do a burnout to heat the tires. (turn esc off, hold the brakes and light'em up)
3. launch off idle and squeeze the pedal to the floor (until you learn your car)
4. check your air pressure in your rear tires. (i run my street tires at 36 psi)(fronts at 40 psi)
5. after burnout make sure that you turn your esc back on (it will also reduce your wheel spin)
6. also do the ecu reset ( do a search if you don't know how to) before you get to the track and do a couple of hard accelerations a few miles from the track.
7. when the 3rd light turns yellow let off your brake and squeeze that pedal
