If the HE Pump is removed, is it still possible to get the supercharger main clutch to lock up?

Yes,This is how mine is, the wiring is unpluged and pump is MIA, yet my car still seems to run ok.

What? You are saying you unplugged what wires? and That you have no pump in place and the car pulls fine?

NOT A CHANCE. If the question is whether the clutch will lock if the HE pump is dead, then the answer is yes, BUT, without an HE pump, the SC intercooler will heat up practically instantly and the SC will shut off.

As stated before, OP please clarify what you are saying.

sneakyneon has a trunk mounted reservoir and a stronger pump mounted back there as well.
i guess his oem pump has been removed and theres nothing there in the oem pump's stock location.

OK, I am understanding. So, you guys are replacing the HE pump with another one inline somewhere and concerned about the SC clutch.

In that case, the SC will be fine. There is no link between the HE pump and the SC clutch. The connection is simply the efficiency of the HE. As long as the IATs stay low, the SC will stay engaged.

I am curious why you would remove and replace the pump? I've seen a few that have 2 pumps...

im wondering that myself since i am going to adding a rear reservoir to my car soon. i was told that it would be redundant to have 2 pumps. i was thinking to get a meziere and run it along with my cm30. if thats not necessary then i guess ill just use the meziere.

what model meziere are u using jangy?
is it the WP136S?

I'm running the Davies pump and LOVE it!! It is a high flow so not for those that like the CM30. Jay will be making me a custom tank that will fit in the engine bay (on the bumper) that holds 2.5 gallons so i will likely play with pumps then.

Most pumps work better to push than to pull, My stock pump was just about dead, Thought it would be more of a restrition than a help.
