What kind of DA and prep can I expect?
Yes we'll have to line it up a few times. I might have to make sure your in the opposite bracket.

Track prep is usually pretty good for the day races. With us staying for the night race they will do a little extra to keep it as sticky as possible.
DA is harder to predict, not even with global warming will we see anything like Sacramento. With our temps in the 60's during the day we'll probably hover from 2000'-2500'. The night will fall into the 50's and maybe get to around 1600'. If it's a freaky night like last night and get to 41 degrees by 9pm then we'll see 1200's. Our track sits at 1250' above sea level, so last night was our sea level conditions. First time I've been at the track for those conditions in 2 years.

How are they about enforcing the "boot" rule?
Now with that in mind, 11.50's don't come easy in AZ. If your running 11.0's in negative air, then maybe 11.4's will be had here.
Famoso or Sac will be the place to set the records. Here we will see who is the best driver with the most consistent car.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
This is a fricken nightmare and I can't believe things have gone this far. You have to be one of the most patient people I know…..

Do I need a helmet, and if so, what kind?
A helmet is required for the driver of any car or truck running 13.99 seconds or quicker in the quarter mile, and for the rider of any motorcycle. Most drivers can use a helmet meeting SNELL K98, M2000, SA2000, M2005, or SA2005 specifications. Professional category and some alcohol burning vehicles require an SA rated helmet. It is important to note that the helmet rating must be designated on a tag INSIDE the helmet, or sewn to one of the helmet straps. The designation stenciled on the exterior of the helmet is insufficient for NHRA technical inspection. Also, some tracks require a helmet on ALL drivers, so check in advance.

NHRA's Frequently Asked Tech questions

PM or email me your real name with your screen name for the list that will be at the track entrance booth.
Spectators don't need to be on the list just pay the normal entrance fee. Usually $10 bucks.
Just got update from track. $30 racer entrance fee includes Day Race, Night Race, burger, fries, and drink with some refills. That's a great deal and take the time to thank one of the track managers Bernie for hooking us up.
Plan on being there by 9am-10am to set up and get tech'd. You can also leave after the day race and come back for the night race, just don't lose your wristband.
Any questions ask away. See you all this weekend
Evan
