Re: 2nd Annual West Coast Shootout
See everyone out there. Quick update there will be a test n' tune during the day as well. So anyone not racing can pay extra at the gate to still get some runs in. Bring a helmet if your car runs under 13.99 and must wear pants, no shorts.
Drive safe and see you all out there.
Will keep you all posted.

Good luck , I was going to race until I saw how badly my front tires are cupped and my friend Jon with the supercharged SRT-10 is getting his wheels painted and they arent ready yet. I might drive out to watch but IDK yet because its over 2 hours round trip for me.

What broke on the EVOMS car? "Break" can mean a lot of things, from pretty minor to "oh sh**" major.![nix](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/nixweiss.gif)
Allegedly, the engine was being tested for this 997 Tip build, prior to being shipped to their client in the Middle East. There's a whole thread about it on 6speed. After two 9.9 @ 149 runs, did something in the drivetrain give out?

How did your day go Mike? Did you have any runs close to your runs at Famoso?

That G wagon is the funniest thing on 4 wheels. The owner snapped the gas peddle off from stepping on it to hard lol. It made it very hard to drive with only a nub for a peddle. It ran a 12.89 not bad for a 6500lb suv. The G wagon has a huge 10 or 12 inch TV screen built in to the dash (looks amazing) Its fitted with cameras all around it.. surveillance style. It has thermal imaging and infrared FLIR camera in the front of the car. It was so useful in finding hot spots on the track.. That thing is totally insane. Not to mention it is insanely loud. In the end though it was had to launch the G wagon with a nub for a peddle.
The Cayenne didnt see much action. The new turbos just cleared customs from Germany so there was no time to install them.
The real story the ZR1 vette. My friend Steve just bought it and took it to the track to beat the bag out of it. He didnt feel like driving it so he let Rich run it all day.
When I raced the ZR1 I killed it to half track. Due to Wheel spin from the ZR1. Then it passed me and absolutely blew my doors off! It passed me like I was nothing. With wheel spin in just about every gear, it ran an 11.40 at 129. If that thing could hook up. Its an easy 11.1 maybe a lucky 10.9 under the right conditions. Its mind blowing how fast that car is. The power up top in that car is unbelievable. If you are not a fan of Corvettes this car will make you one. The only real weakness on that car is the length of the gear throws. If it was my car I shorter throw shifter would be my first mod.
For me I ran my best Arizona time of 11.72 @ 119mph. It felt like garbage though, due to my trans being on its last leg. In fact it has no more legs. Its getting pulled Monday.
Smaller turnout this year, but it was fun. I was shooting for bracket racing trophy this year. I dialed in an 11.84 and ran an 11.87. I got caught sleeping at the light and lost that race. Now I hate bracket racing!
Jturkel ran a personal best of 12.6 in his C32. I ended up loosing $10 on a bet that he wouldn't run better than 11.7.
I got some video's I have to load up. Including the best reverse burnout ever. Performed by.. Yours truly. That was funny.
One thing I over heard. That I found funny was.. A guy in the pits was talking trash about Mercedes drag racing. When he was driving an Automatic Challenger (New). Maybe he doesn't know about his Mercedes transmission he has in his car? Then he got blown out of the watter by the Silverstate E55.

Hooley I think the G55 finally hit 12.7's and it was the best sounding vehicle out there. You got caught sleeping and Brian took out the whole Hooley performance group. JTurkel has an 12.50 easy in his car. There was no more gas so he couldn't run when the DA dropped. My good friend who just his second time out racing with me won the event. We all got trailered by a G8 and a Taco'ma!!! Even put me on the trailer. Was some good racing and everybody stepped up there game. Look forward to next year.

I think that E55 ran a 11.80 with 20's and street tires. Under limited runs. I'm not sure what mods it has. I know its got a nice roll bar, built to the Silverstate Classic specs.
I will get some pics of the G wagon and some video. its so awesome. The brakes in the G wagon are some of the best brakes (AMG) I've ever felt. It stops from 108mph better and faster then My C55. Infact Much better them my C55. I would even say they feel better than CLS55 brakes.

yah. too bad i was too low on gas for more night runs. 12.6 at 111 or something was my best run....and only a 1.98 60'.....i just couldnt hook better with the DRs......i know it is possible for me to pull at least a 1.85 with those things....i definitely had a 12.5 coming for sure....i kept spinning off the line. in fact, once i would stop spinning and finally grip, the car would jump and at one point, the doors all suddenly locked. it was frickin crazy!
Haha...that same door lock thing happened to me at my last track outing. Maybe you're launching so hard that the car thinks it's getting rear ended and locks all the doors. I remember reading that somewhere, don't know if it's true or not but it has happened a few times.

The ZR1 is indeed incredibly fast. At the last track rental we had 5 or 6 of them running. They ended up hitting 10.8x @ 132-133mph stock
Of course they were all very skilled drivers. There was also a bolt on Lingenfelter ZR1 (stock exhaust manifold and exhaust) that ran 9.8 @ 14x ![EEK!](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)

Those cars are insane

I see Hooley was just a hair off off running down the CLK.(prolly happened at the tree)
So where is the big winner?

Sounds like some traction issues out of the hole?

Right lane was good all day. Left was hit or miss if you didn't get in the groove.
No perfect lights, I think the best light was the black crossfire with a .030. Not me I missed the tree all day.
The closest dial was also the winner in the finals. It was a buddy of mine in a G8. Only the 2nd time he's bracket raced. He went 14.10 on his 14.09 dial to take a Tacoma SC at the top end of the track. The Tacoma took me out in the semi's after I spun just a little on the takeoff and couldn't run him down. The G8 and Tacoma mowed us all down. There was an E55 that was dead on as well. I have some more vids to upload today.
Wish you could have made it. You would of done well. Plan for next year.
