exhaust tips HAVE TO GO.
someone let the designer run amok.....
I am sure this is a great car - but - some styling aspects are just plain trying too hard. Airflow items should be rounded.... the fact you can see the round exhaust pipe in there is just plain wrong.

I personally prefer how the interior of the W211 flows. Especially how the center design flows very nicely from the air conditioning controls down through the COMAND and through the gear shift.
With the new W212, the flow is interrupted and not smooth anymore.

a neighbor down my street has the new E, non amg... though it's got a little diferent bodystyling, i just shake my head when i see the rear end... the front is spot on, just beautiful! the rear end was a huge miss and quite frankly is the reason i believe the w211 will be in style for a while to come...

Saw it and drove it. Drives nice and the MCT is quicker than the 7-G Tronic.
It looks good when you're inside 'cause all you see are the gauges and the road
Yeah, it's fugly. The designer had Japanese wet dreams and so this is what he ended up with. There's no real radical design inspiration with this car. He and Chris Bangle should get together and open a restaurant or something.
The car's a decent lateral move from the W211. It's not really moving up, tho. Except for the expected tech advances. Car weighs more now (MCT) and it negates the tiny hp boost. Wait a few years for the TT, imho.
It'll be a good sleeper since you can hide in with all the other Asian cars out there.

That car is soo much better, people will change their tune next year (thats how long it takes some people to warm up to things) and then say the w211 is outdated looking; history will repeat itself. BTW Has anyone seen the Carlsson w212 now that is nice, minus the rims though. .02
