Actually this in Dev mode and the "Fahrzeug Code, Vmax = XXX km/h" should appear in the list of values...

So if it's not, where is it ?

Thanks for your help and your german skills

This is the CI menu what he shows. Vmax is not in there. I would need to look in which control unit it is to be found. But why would you disable Vmax? You're in the US where you can barely drive faster than my 80 ccm moped can drive back in the days when I was 16.

Actually vMax is there, but it's not the one you want. vMax in the CI settings is the soft warning - ie "Gulf States" mode.

Exactly! It's responsible to drive you insane when you hit 120 km/h or more so you slow down.

I know it's not there and I just mentioned that I found it...
I'm based in Europe and at half an hour from Germany... where speed is unlimited.

I think you're mistaken with this Gulf setting which is far below the european limitation (250 Km/h = 160 m/h).

Thanks

Well that used to be true. Many parts of the Autobahn have speed limits today b/c of the green party. But the parts that are open you are right, you can drive as fast as you want, as fast as your car can go and as fast as traffic allows you to drive. B/c that is many times the actual speed limit out there: heavy traffic!

Why not just put your car in Dyno mode to start with?!

Maybe I'm misunderstanding but my car hit the speed limiter in dyno mode.

Hi,

You just need to go to ME 2.8 AMG and then devdata - control unit adaptation -variant coding - implizite codierung...
You scroll down to code Number "0224" and then pick up in the list the right "Fahrzeug Code, Vmax = XXX km/h".

That's also why I asked to raise vmax so I can fully load 4th. As far as I know Dyno mode just kills ESP, ABS and gearshifts/kickdown-not speed limiter. Now waiting on my laptop to do further digging in star

Why would you wanna mess up your car with SDS and Developer-Kit access if you don't even know how to connect the mulitplexer to you car?

Actually I do know about dyno mode since I'm in those advanced menus quite often to keep track of actual oil levels and reset service reminders when I change oil and what not and as I mentioned earlier my only use for raising vmax is to dyno (still in dyno mode) to monitor the full rpm range in 4th..
Maybe I seem paranoid but I'd really like to keep track of what is going on with my motor under extreme situations no matter how rare they might be.

I'm not talking about dynomometer testing.

And I like that you take care of the car and the oil level and I mean that!

Not sure what you mean by advanced menus. This is nothing that is secret or mysterious to disable ABS and ESP within the CI menu vs. the push of a button on the lower control panel that doesn't fully disable ESP as we all know.

But to be precise: I was referring to Elrajel with his C4 multiplexer and not your oil level! Sorry!

But since we're talking about dynamometer testing. How much is such a test nanayaw6? Thanks!

Hahaha, sorry Mackhack, it's that time of the week where all text seems weird or has different meaning to me. I use the term "Advanced menu" loosely as many merc owners and in some cases dealer techs are unaware of its existence and I've seen cases where given step by step directions, some still cannot bring up the menu.

Dyno in a good shop will run typically right around $100

I like to lean more towards the direction of shops that work on imports for such testing and even then will still make sure it is strapped down well....again, my paranoid self.

On a side note did u figure out that seat timer u were looking for? My darn laptop is still not back so I couldn't verify further for you

I did some sort of digging and found out with the help of someone else: It's possible to increase the 3 stage timer, you can't completely turn it off/on but that would be something to accomplish.

One of my next retrofit mods will be the heated/ventilated/massaging active leveling multicontur seats which will certainly be modded on the software side as well

Sounds very fancy .
Besides changing the national version to rest of world, is there another way to get the fogs to stay on with high beams? Got some projector fogs on the way so that would be handy.

Do the fog lights turn off when you turn your high beams on? I switched to RoW early on when I got my car, so I don't even know haha

Yup. With USA selected they turn off. Which is a PITA when I am flashing someone. Killing my fog ballasts prematurely

Hmm, some good points! I've not hit vMax when dynoing my car, but then again, I'm not 100% sure it was not before I had vMax removed. For some reason I'm still thinking you don't hit vMax in dyno mode, but don't have the chance to play with her like I used to.

FYI, you don't use the RS232 connection on the C4.
