Thanks! The conversion was a pain in the ash. Pretty simple if you are dealing with the right people, but unfortunatley I didnt.

The color is called Ballon White from Lamborghini it's a Matte White Pearl.

Very nice string of 10`s and 60 ft times! Very impressive display and doumentation of runs!!! Those tire wrinkles are just plain sick on the Sl55 Benz Flagship..

Any video?

I know you have cams but are your heads ported now as well?

Thanks Bro.

I do have a couple of video's but I have to edit them because the filming wasnt too great and there was a lot of filming of the floor.

No cams in yet because there wasnt enough time before this event, but I did have plans on installing these cams right after the event. Now these plans on installing my cams are on hold because Jeremy@Powerchip advised me to hold off on the cams install until I work on my fuel injectors and/or fuel pressure since I am starting to run out of fuel on the top end already and the cams will only make matters worse. So it looks like my stock fuel injectors is the next hurdle I will have to overcome in order to further mod.

As far as head porting is concerned, I dont have any plans on doing this since I dont see any hard data out there that I've seen to prove gains.

Just remember..... this is only the beginning
Thanks again Mo for the event. Also thanks for the pep talk a few weeks ago when I told you I might not make it to the event and giving me that extra push.

Absolutely incredible. As others have mentioned, that tire wrinkle is Congrats on your achievement. Nice to see so many 55K's in the 10's off nitrous Now that E and SL are out of the way, who's going to do it with an S or CLS?

Thanks guys. Believe it or not my first run of the day, which netted me 1.62 60', I was at 34 psi since I completely forgot to adjust the psi when I got to track.

After that I lowered it to 25 lbs since I was hooking well and didnt want to break anything.

In regards to my launch technique, I really do not know how to explain it. I change my launch technique on every run and so far that works for me. I take into consideration if track is cold/hot, how well I hooked on the previous run, and other things come into play as well.

Thanks again guys and cant wait for your results from this coming event.

Awesome job and killer 60's...................you're running the same little Hoosiers I run on my Crossfire(but only get 1.7x 60's due to much less power).

Oh crap. I just got my Mickey T's today from Summit Racing. Now I hear see that Hoosiers may have been the better choice? Going to check prices of Hoosiers from Summit, Jegs and TireRack before I hit the sack.

What Hoosier tires to the 55Ks run on this forum? A6, R6 or something else? Should I run the same 255/50/16 tires as the Mickey T's?

All due respect, you're overthinking this a bit. The quickest/fastest cars have run either Hoosier or M/T for their DRs... and usually the same 255/50/16's that you already have. Burn up the ones you just got, and if you don't like them, give the Hoosiers a try. Not A6 or R6, those are auto-x and road-course respectively - you'd want the DRs.

Thanks for sharing the info. 24 PSI seemed to work best for me but I haven't tried enough runs at other pressures to decide if that really was the sweet spot. LOL at the 1.62s 60' at 35 PSI.

I've always had the best luck launching off idle then rolling into the throttle (the Chiromikey technique) but am always interested in hearing from people who have had success with other techniques.

Again, sensational runs! You've done a great job setting up your SL55!

i told ya the hoosiers were good too. you did not go wrong with mickey thempsons though. they are a tried and true setup and are good for low 1.6 and high 1.5 sixty foots. like Brett said, go thru these and then get Hoosiers ....see which work best on your car.

btw Hooley used the hoosiers on his C55 and i believe he said he prefers the MTs. as far as i remember he had good results with both.

I'll let you guys know after this weekend. I'll have Hoosiers mounted on one and MT ET street radials on the other set. Both theses tires will be 16" CCW rims.

Sal,
Way to go buddy! Your car is a true monster and I love the new look. VERY HOT! Sorry I missed you guys this event. I am going to try and make it to the next one and if I can't I will get someone to drive her. Tell Eddie to modify his beauty and get to the track.
