What would you do?

With the Arizona race event looming. I have no time to get my transmission to Renntech for my SL65 trans rebuild build. I want and need to race in this event. (Its my home track.) As soon the event is over The trans is coming out and being shipped to Renntech FLA.

Knowing my clutch packs are just about done.. would you run B&M trick shift for trans fluid if you're only going to have it rebuild a week later? I know about only running MB trans fluid. I'm looking for a Band-Aid thats all, just to get me thought this race event. what would you do in my situation.

imho, Absolutely no Trick Shift! That stuff is old school and I doubt it is anywhere near the specs required for your NAG.
If you are looking to give your tranny a shot in the arm with some fresh fluid I would suggest Valvoline Maxlife. VML was at least recognized, at one time, as being a suitable fluid by Mercedes. Otherwise, leave it alone.

I say take it to the dance the way it is.. Any change and you may just ruin any chance of racing..

Is it better to race and tear up the tranny or miss the race?

this is a tricky call. I'm going to the race. If it slips it slips I guess. Just wondering what harm syth trick shift could do (bad) since my clutch packs are toast anyways.

haters crazy
If you flush the fluids you might make things worse. When is the race? Plus you could damage some trans internals and not get your core charge back

If the event is more than a couple days away, you could rebuild it yourself. Your valvebody has already been done, so the only other thing you have to do is flush out the torque converter and cooler. I know you are capable of doing it. Order the 2 freewheels, all the clutches, the 2 thickest snap rings for each clutch pack. Let me know when you need torque specs for the case to bellhousing and for the tailshaft nut. Don't forget to reset the shift adaptations in the TCU.

I'm leaning in the direction of not touching it at all. Last trans fluid change I put most of the old fluid back in after seeing how much material was in there. I new a rebuild was coming down the pipe line it was just a mater of when.

You must REALLY want to race...the high possibility of grenading the transmission vs simply sitting one out and getting it built properly is a no brainer IMO (sit it out).
