******* New Stock E63 Trap Record *******
I wasn't really going to post this since it seemed like such a tiny accomplishment compared to what blackbenz, bassn_07, MikesAmg, HammerDown, and Juicee have accomplished with their cars.... but for a stock 63, I guess it's still a step forward.
The previous stock trap record for an E63 was previously held (at least for the past two years) by Rob (oldgixxer) as he ran an 11.95 @ 118.320 with his famous babyseat mod
At Sacramento this last Saturday, along side Team ///AMG and friends, the car broke that record 4 times. However, the car was not 100% stock..... instead, I would call it 99.99% stock since the only change I made was to switch the rear tires to Michellin PS2 at 275 width instead of the 265 continentals that come on the car from factory. Other than that, the car was completely stock. And yes, I had stock air filters and charcoal filters still in place. Here are the times:
- 12.226 @ 118.374 - piloted by Alan (the world's fastest benz driver)
- 12.124 @ 118.540 - piloted by Amer (now the world's fastest E63 driver)
- 12.615 @ 118.887, and finally....
- 12.798 @ 118.988 - also piloted by Amer (username: Juggarnaut)
Initially, I thought my previous ET was not broken, but it turns out, it was actually broken twice: the 12.226 that Alan ran actually beat the previous personal best of 12.228 ran at Famoso. And the second time by my super driver friend (as I call him now) who didn't even notice he beat the record until later that day
Anyways, now I am positive that a stock E63 can trap 119 mph.... I am now very close to HammerDown's record trap of 119.2 which he ran on street tires a couple of weeks ago
Here are the timeslips:
............
Like I said, this is nothing compared to the accomplishment of the heavy hitters we have on this board, and I honestly wasn't even going to post it, but for the 63, it's still something. Oh and Alan warned me they'll be a lot of haters claiming I used NOS or that I was modded in anyway, so let the hate begin......

A Prius because I'm green
Awesome car Mo but the only thing I managed to do at a track is drive in a somewhat straight line. I'm not heavy hitter, well if you rate what I did to the porter potty prior to us running. Alan knows what I'm talking about, damn Dennys breakfast!

Thanks Max..... we missed you the last couple of events my friend. We had such perfect air the last two events (+150 ft DA at Famoso and -400 ft DA at Sacramento). Had your car ran last Saturday with us at Sacramento, I'm sure you would've hit 120 mph like Hammer did. I remember your car pulled 118.x in 1500 ft DA

how much air were u running in the tires ??? Its a know fact that more air pressure will give u better trap speed. Also its kind of funny how all the e63 best times and passes were had on stock tires and rims .
I couldnt crack 117 with the 19 inch modulares and nitto invo's . its got to be the rotating mass thing .

Woohoo! Congrats Mo
I'm going to have to do a Famoso soon. My motor runs strong stock and I'd love to compare traps with a stock to stock. And maybe get Chiromikey or Ahmad out here and pilot my car
I'm working up north during the next scheduled Famoso rental but I don't have my car with me. Maybe I can run down and pick it up in time.
Anyway, congrats!

Thanks a lot Sun, I really appreciate it I hope your car will be ready before Famoso in January
I tried 36, 32, 30, and 28 psi in the rear. The record run was made on 30 psi. However, I had 275s in the back this time around not the stock 265 as I used to have before. The car was trapping very well even when I hit 13 seconds a few times, my traps were still high. It was just very low DA, good quality air, very cold, and the track elevation is physically low. I think your car would trap 121 mph very easily at Sacramento, but you guys have MIR which is 10 times better. I hope you're attending MIR on Sunday, I'm looking forward to some great times from your car. You have one strong beast my friend
Thanks, I will be looking forward to seeing you at Famoso.... I hope you can make it
Thanks Sal...... coming from the world's quickest/fastest SL55 is a big deal and I will look forward to seeing you again at Famoso in a few weeks
Thank you very much..... and you're absolutely right: every ounce counts.... especially for the 63 platform since it's so difficult to mod. I figured trapping almost 119 stock is good, but after seeing all the 55s smash records, it didn't seem so big I am not sure if I can hit 120 stock.... maybe if I take out the filters or empty my trunk and run on a very cold day at -1500 ft DA. Aaahhhh...... one can only dream

Great speeds, I'm glad that we're proving the E63 is not a dog as most people thought when it first came out
Modding is another story
What did you do different to get times ranging from 12.12 to 12.79?

Oh great Mo, you frickin' butchered my username even after I spelled it out to you
Every time I drive the E63 it feels amazing. I enjoyed the 4.5 hour drive back home more than the Sacramento track... is that wrong?
I've driven lots of fast cars but the E63 truly excels in all areas of driving.

Very nicely done Mo and thank you for letting me drive your car. This was the first time I drove a E63 and the feeling was like night and day, not good or bad just different. Even when I drove Mike's car it felt totally different when both our cars are very similar. Great experience either way and I'm sure you'll be hitting your own PB's soon. Practice that launch and you'll be good...I promise.

Mo,
To my good friend,
a continued inspiration to many here. Your car has always stood out. You took down a record that was long standing and hardly challenged prior to your runs.
You have gone from 12.70's to 12.1 , from 111 to 118, all in stock trim..
I think this speaks volumes to weather and track conditions being the primary factor to running the quickest and fastest times. However to achieve any goal, you must be dedicated, passionate and a participant, you are all of those. You deserve this , your car is the fastest stock E63 in the USA and that is dam impressive.
Yes the 10 second passes are hard to compete with, but running low 12's at 118 is certainly "post worthy"
Mo DAM BUDDY YOU DID IT!
Now we just need a decent launch , and 11's are here .
Cheers Mr. Mo
