Electronic Lowering Modules: Are all equal?

But I agree that if you will never play with your ride height, the links are the way to go.

Love your car, FT! Those wheels look killer and the drop really compliments it...good job!
As far as the lowering module goes, I've got the Renntech V2, and I couldn't be happier. Install took about an hour and a half, but that included soldering and heat shrinking. I have it mounted in my center console underneath the cup holder, and I pretty much set it and forget it. A word to the wise...if you install this module, be sure to mount it in the center console BEFORE you solder all the wires. I didn't do it that way, and then had to cut all the wires and re-solder them.
Good luck!

My only beef with the links is the combination of OEM suspension dampening and reduced suspension travel... making it more prone to bottoming out.
It's too bad that no vendors offer adjustable dampening at each four corners, that would be cool!

my V2 has 7 levels of height adjustment. I wouldn't say that I've set my ride height and "forgot about it". I do tinker with the height every once in a while, depending on my mood, but it only takes a few minutes to do so in the garage. I'm coming from the perspective that I don't have a need for the remote to make changes while I'm in the car or out somewhere.
But I agree that if you will never play with your ride height, the links are the way to go.

With whatever method you choose, if you lower your car too much, you run the risk of bottoming out.

Here's the reply I got from Renntech:
The V3 from a technical standpoint is much improved. The main differences are the way it integrates into the CAN-BUS system of the car. The voltage draw on the unit is 50% less than the V2 and the adjustments are much more precise with it. By using a laptop you have infinite adjustment capabilities.
As you lower the suspension the dampening will firm up.

So I talked to Renntech and forgot to get the install instructions, but apparently, they told me you need a laptop to adjust the height. You can no longer use the physical knobs on the unit itself. If you want, you can get an optional $300 windows based 7" lcd that you can stuff in the glove box to use to control the height adjustments.

What a pain. I'll keep my v2, thank you.

Smart man the install is a breeze, 5 minutes set your max drop on the head of your unit and BOOM you're done. I have not given my suspension settings a second thought since it was installed back in April.

Well, I'm also on links in the front and repositioned sensor in the rear. I did this back in early 2003 before there was anything on the market to drop the W211. Front links were custom made. But with that, (1) front and (4) rear.

I love your stance. Do you have any close-up pics of front and rear drop?

i bought my v3 from him as well. He flew out to wash dc to do the install and flash tuned a c63 as well before he went to NYC.
im waiting when it gets warmer to play around w/the settings to get the fender over the tire, and at the same time have the front/rear even

i just think its easy w/ a usb hooked up to laptop to adjust settings. otherwise if you dont run the wires to the center console, you have to open up the passenger floor to access the module....

Just my personal preference that hooking up a laptop is an inconvenience....lazy to take it downstairs, into the garage, etc. I don't need to open up the passenger floor to access the V2 module. It's tucked up there, sitting on a "ledge", for lack of a better word. I just pull it out. Changing the settings takes me literally just a few minutes. If you do the Jangy mod, it will be even quicker.

Sorry for all the questions, but is it safer to go lower with lowering links? I don't know if that makes sense, but if I want to go lower should I install the links as well, or am I alright just to drop it another notch or 2 with the Renntech?
