CLS55 AMG
Well I am not going to argue with you, but I am nearly positive he made very little money on this car considering it's extended stay with him and the associated finance charges, transport and recondition costs. I am however positive he will make money on my trade...lol.
While I think black rims are sexy, I wanted to go with a set up that was more representative of the style of the E55 when it was released.
Having never owned a Mercedes before I like the black/chrome contrast that is so classic. I admit when I first added the rims I thought it might be a bit to much chrome on the lips (as I hate all chrome wheels)....but it is growing on me. I think once it is tinted, dropped and the black grille is added it will really come together.
Besides my last car was murdered out and I like the change.

That's the plan....have the ELM already (killer deal on fleabay for a version 1 @ $400
Just waiting for the spoilers to arrive then Benz Elite is going to do all the mods at once.
Then paint correction and picture time.

Thanks Clayton! Yeah it was long overdue.
Haven't swapped the tires yet as I thought it wise to play around with them for a few weeks and get them really bald.
Then I am going back to the stockers until March when I will add new rubber.
And thank you for your assistance and support, your words of wisdom helped me make the right decision..."Buy the nicest one you can find, it only hurts once"

I learned my lesson when searching for my SL600. I initially started my search looking as most people do, by low price. After driving many of the bargain SL55's, I quickly realized that there's two very distinct flavor of AMG 55K cars. Those that are cheap, and those that are good. There was such a huge demarcation line between the cheap and good. It took me nearly 8 months of searching before pulling the trigger on my SL600. And even then, I settled a bit on color and options. I really wanted white w/ berry, but alas...
Since then, my advice is always to purchase the nicest one available, and pay more for it. These cars are hugely over engineered and very complex. The last thing you want is a car that wasn't cared for properly to save a few grand. Trust me, you'll pay for it in the long run.
Can't wait to see this thing. It certainly appears you got a fine example.

One more word of advice. Keep it away from car washes! See my detail thread...

I went legal (50% sides,35% rear) in charcoal. I would rather go darker but I recently got a $93 ticket in my last ride, which was 35% all around, and I want to avoid the hassle.
And not done yet, it looks like they double booked so he is working on two cars at once.

The car has suffered many improper washes, probably at the reseller I bought it from as the owner took a liking to it and was know to drive it several times a week.
Nothing that can't be corrected though.

Lol that's funny, I test drove that car with some African sales guy. The Manager wan an a55hole though, he wanted to give me 24K for my M3. It drove good, but the sales dude said the owner's son drives this car everyday which didn't make me feel comfortable. . Other than that, it drove fine.

Without seeing your car, my guess would be in the $500-600 range. I'll talk to him tonight. I'll assume it needs a two-step process with little interior work needed. Sound about right?

Congrats on the purchase. The car looks great and will look even better with a drop. I love those wheels.
Also, Clayton, I sent you a PM regarding your detailer. Thanks.

Great looking E55! I like the wheel setup, when power mods are coming, you can't go wrong with Eurocharged/LET Tuning. A 172mm pulley and tune should do a bit of a wakeup. Congrats on the car!
