55K drivetrain swap / install questions

I have a few questions about how possible it is to swap in a used 55k motor from another chassis. Are there ECU / Chassis / TCU restrictions to that drivetrain? Could it potentially be put into one of the Daimler designed Chryslers? I ask because I notice much of the ecu, etc. on them is W210 generation stuff. Last thing, what is the going price I should expect by getting a junked or totalled (auction) one and using it for all the needed parts?

Thanks for any info.

One of the members here Lantana320ML did a M113 500 v8 swap into his Chrysler Crossfire. There was a very detailed thread on a Crossfire forum. There was another member in that thread who swapped a 55K engine into his Crossfire. Reading through Lantana's thread over there he really seemed to have a pretty good handle on the developer part of star diagnostics. You might want to get in touch with him or at least check out that thread. Here is a link to a thread with a link in it.

$5k to $15k is about right, I think. As many know, Jeep is owned by Chrysler, which got a bunch of Daimler goodies. I got a new Jeep Wrangler and have been researching the ECU, etc. and it is pretty much MB. MANY people have done V8 swaps and so wiring harnesses, etc. are all already done. Dropping in a hemi is about $5k to $15k, depending on Hemi engine (new vs used, etc.) so I figured why not an MB v8?

I am now looking for a 55k with an intact drivetrain. Honestly, I am less concerned 0over cost and more over the whole project. I don't want this to become the never ending mod...
