Beauphus's Rebuild...

Last month I hydro-locked my motor and after haggling with the insurance company I ended up being compensated for the whole mess. The car is 100% perfect - just bent a couple rods. The engine was completely disassembled down to the block and is being re-built as we speak. Below is my list of mods being done. I will have full pics and video once completed in approx 2 weeks.

1. 180mm pulley (Renntech)
2. 82mm TB (Renntech)
3. Renntech Carbon Fiber intake airbox
4. PTE/VRP cams
5. PTE thermostat
6. Heads, runners, and distribution tanks ported and polished
7. Titanium valve spring retainers
8. MBH Longtube headers
9. Phenolic heat spacers (upper and lower)
10. ASP replacement pulleys (double idler, tensioner, etc. with upgraded ZZ bearings)
11. Cooling mods (Upgraded heat exchanger, split reservoir cooling setup)
12. Exhaust work with stock mufflers. 3" back. Primary cat delete
13. Powerchip custom tune
14. Quaife LSD

Have almost all the parts. Cant wait for this to be complete. Car should be a beast. Did I miss anything???

Should be one nasty build,
Although it sounds like you knew it was a minor fix, but continued to push your insurance until they paid out big.
If so, thanks for contributing to higher policy premiums for everybody. Appreciate it.

The fact that a claim was even filed did that, so the pay out amount at that point was inconsequential... I'm jus sayin...

Did you even read the original thread? The insurance company wanted to total his car, instead of covering the engine repair/replacement.

If I knew there was a thread, I would've not stated my statement. Hence why I said "if so". As obviously I don't know the whole story

To quell any rumors here is the final deal with insurance. they totalled the car, paid it off, and gave me fair market value for the vehicle (and i thought they were quite generous on the value), and cut me a check for the difference. I argues for them to fix it it and they were adamant that they total it. I bought it back from the junk yard for peanuts and am turning this car into my "fun" car. There was absolutely NO DAMAGE to the car besides the 2 bent rods. Insurance company just didnt want the risk and the adjuster told them it would caost a fortune just to disassemble - so they said to hell with it. My loss is my gain

With those mods get a rear reservoir done ...

With car broken down like this its so much easier to get a water / meth injection kit put in, even if you dont end up using it. HFS6 Aquamist has worked for another member.

Did you already have headers or are you running with the stock manifold?

**QUICK UPDATE**

car still getting tweaked but she is damn fast. meth kit is now on. fixed the rough idle issue with cam tuner by splitsecond but i am still in search of a true cure because i fear the cam tuner only masks the problem. will be at the track as soon as jeremy is done tuning again next week. thinking of running the OBD brick to house a conservative tune and one for the track that takes advantage of the meth. anybody know how much power i can extract from tuning for meth? the beauty of the brick is once im off the track i can go right back to the "safe" tune...

Do you mean 2 ecu's???

No need with OE flash tuner.

Where are you spraying the meth? Much better to use it for safety then power. But I reckon Jeremy has an opinion on all this, why ask us....lol!

No offense dude (great build!) but you keep chasing dyno numbers, get her to the track...then the real tuning begins!

Good luck!

there's roughly up to 60rwhp available between tuning for pump gas and full race unleaded so if you're properly running meth as a power adder instead of a chemical intercooler then there's no reason you can't get similar power. to my knowledge, you would be the first to use/tune for meth for this purpose on a 55k so you'll be the one to answer that question.

thats what i mean - the flash tuner. i should have it next week. i only use the meth to lower my IATs (which it does great at) but was thinking that with the OE flash tool i can have a more aggressive timing tune for the track only.

not dynoing for more power - gotta get the AFR's right since i have made some adjustments becuase im running pig rich. hopefully jeremy will be here next week or so and we can tune at the track as well as on dyno. still need to get my track wheel and tire setup complete. need slicks...

ordinarily i wouldnt consider tuning for it but with the flash tool it makes it easy to go back and forth and not have the safety concern so long as meth is running while im on the aggressive tune. ill keep everyone posted on the power to be had. BTW when tuning for meth do i need to run METH ONLY or can i still run 50/50?

There ya go, makes perfect sense! Add meth - have one map for safety and the other for the "I am at the track now so you MF'rs better watch out cause I have race gas and meth...biitches!

Pig rich..there are worse problems (lol), but no worries Jeremy will get you straight on the afr's.
