M5= no torque
e55= torque monster
My M5 was a blast to drive, sounded amazing, great steering feedback, and I am one of the few that really liked the SMG...man I miss the throttle blips..., but the e55 is an absolute beast. That instant torque is so addictive. I honestly enjoy driving the e55 more then then the M5.

I agree. I love drivin my e55 more than the m5. I honestly think that the e55 has better gas mileage as well. The torque in the E is addicting and fun. I do like the m5 on the other hand becuase of its handling and IMO it's alot more comfortable.

The v10 was a dog off the line. Mine was modded also, had Evosport headers, race exhaust, tune, pulleys, 3.91 diff etc, and it was quick, but not fsat. The e55 pulls so much harder from a dig. I don't know if I would say the M5 felt lighter, it had better steering communication, and was definitely a little bit more tossable. Also, keep in mind that I don't live in an area with some great roads for cornering, so the true potential of the M5 was never exploited.

yea Iv been in the m5 before and it dosnt feel fast at all driving around town where the e55 shines the most.
My friend bought an m6 and once its nice out we will do a few runs.Im not stock tho but my brother has a stock e55.
from a dig if we hook up its no chance for the m5 until about 90 mph

I know I am going to take crap for this posting about Mustangs in a Mercedes forum but I have a 1989 Mustang GT with a Kenne Belle supercharger with just a free flow exhaust with high flow cats and it was the most fun of any car I ever had as it had boost right off of idle and was just so much fun to drive. I ran it at the track once with a 13.2 1/4 mile as it was probably much faster as I had never been to the track before.
Anyways that is why the e55 is so appealing to me. I could care less about how fast a car is on top end or if the m5 is faster once over 90 mph as I don't drive like that around here. I just want off the line power.
