Anyone dynoed 74mm Vs 82mm TB?

I just bought a 82mm TB for my W210 S/C project to replace the 74mm TB thats in my car now. I'm interested in any gains you guys have seen over the 74mm TB?

Thanks!

bassn_07 dynoed 80mm and then 82mm and gained 18 whp but that was on a modded car and it was W211 E55 not W210 E55. You may want to try asking in the W210 section

Thanks! Thats a nice gain!

Well, there isn't anyone who ever tried a 82mm TB on a W210 as far as i know. I'm just curious how much the gains are on a W211.
I think the gains will be equal on my car compared to a W211. My blower is ported on the inlet and outlet.

The previous 80mm that bassn_07 had was actually 78mm in size, but widely called 80mm. So the 18 whp gain was over 4mm increase. Also, there maybe more gains that were not shown on the dyno due to lack of good air flow. Going from 74 mm to 82 mm should give a good nice increase especially in mid to high rpms.

I'm guessing 30+whp on a W211 E55 considering Alans 18whp gain over a 78mm. I wish I dynod before and after mine. I tend to do many mods between dynos lol

Mo is right! I gained about 15RWHP over my 80MM TB. You should get a good amount of power in the mid and high ends.

To be honest I doubt you will see that much gain. Our cars run much less boost than the E55s so we don't gain as much by decreasing intake restirction. 49whp is rediculous! To give you an idea my car went from a 10.78 @ 127 to 10.66 @ 125.9 Only differences were 82mm TB, new intake setup (this could actually be losing me top end power), SLR injectors, custom tune, and bias ply tires vs drag radials (pre TB). I should have new times April 2nd but I am going to be running more boost, higher rev limit, retune, and going back to a modified version of my old intake.

True! I didn't mean that i would see 49 Whp, just amazed that he picked up that much with only a TB and intake

My plan is to run aprox 1+ bar of boost which is in the W211 55 territory And i think a bigger TB will only help rather then not help. Specially with my Eaton/Roots blower, they really like more air pre the blower. Just look at the Gen 3 Eaton ported Cobras.

Glad you are going back to your old intake set-up (modded) that one is hard to beat powerwise!

1+ bar boost! Your car will fly! Ok you should see some pretty nice gains with the TB then lol

I will send you pics of it when it is done. Should be pretty badass, at least it is in my head haha

i cant compare ur engine to w211 engine .. i misread thought it was w211 .. as far as our cars we gain alot from stock tb to 82mm but have to have to airbox to get full power from it .. i really dont know alot about ur engine but all i can say is ur car is fastttttttttt and wouldn't wanna line up next to ur black beast
