Slow down ( MO ) Man I'm havin a blast with this car.. Just wanted to clear up a couple thing up,
Jim , not offended, I thank you for posting here, you are a long time MODAHOLIC
Mo , Yes, I have a blast swaping out mods at the track, even ECU's
As for different shops, every shop I have been to are Authorized Renntech Dealers and I have always run Renntech Tunes to this day .
Only reason I went to the last two shops was for Long Tube custom builds.
At every shop Ken from Renntech has always been part of the Tuning.
I wanted to try the MHB headers not just for power but to test the design, as in a test vehicle for fitment on a CLS63 (will be the FIRST production LT headers ever to fit on a CLS63), quality, style and last but not least, POWER oh and Jim, price
I have data on everything ever done to this car. I have so much data that I can almost write a book. At the end we will all have a greater knowlage of the 63 platform. I even have a documentory in HD video over the past year an a half of racing, moding and even the Texas Mile... soon to be seen
Will update the forum by Monday night .. /// A M G

[QUOTE=juicee63;3983585]Rick whats up. I think Im getting my car soon. Maybe Fontana? I gotta see first hand the power of the LT.
I'm up for many Fontana runs. I'm going to run that track alot this summer . Not for record runs but just for the fun of it. My daughter and I love to race. I'll be teaching her to do a burn out this timeout It's time to get back to the sport Race to Race. I'll let you know when I get my car back, we'll go to Fontana, I'll let you drive it, I have a lot of 63 parts and mod sitting around..

Hey Rick, I remember checking out your outrageous N20 setup last time at Fontana. I just installed a small .28 dry shot system on my 335i yesterday morning, and went straight to Sacramento. What size N20 jet does an engine like yours use to run your mid 120 mph trap speeds?
I didn't have time to tune with a bigger jet, or turn up the boost. The track lines were long for Sacramento. Waiting for the Jr Dragsters, Muscle Cars, Motorcycle categories, etc. My battery went south, so I sat in the staging lanes baking my engine. So the conditions weren't ideal. I used to run 124-126 mph traps and a 9.09 sec 60-130mph. But with this small .28 shot (the bottle doesn't even get cold!), I ran 11.33 at 132.77 mph.!
My fastest 1/8 mile was 102.798!
My 60-130mph so far is 7.9 seconds on a very low boost map, which should improve shortly.
Amazing stuff, any N20 pointers for a newbie?
FYI...It is so funny seeing these outrageously noisey V8 muscle cars, revving their engines so loud next to you, that you can't even talk on the phone. And then our modern, quiet, luxury cars just leave them in qtr mile...

CLS63 Long Tube sneak peak
Here is a sneak peak at the all new 63 header that will be available for the CLS63 and E63. We hoped we could get away with fitting the C63, but it was not meant to be. So we made some adjustments to the headers. Keping the idea of the C63 header in mind this is what we got.
If all goes well headers should be dyno tested tomorrow...
Here are some quick pics of an almost finished set of the new CLS63/E63 headers.

Thanks guys, it took a few tries to get this right. I will have some real good pics in the AM tomorrow. Like RAR said this is the production set being made and installed. We've gone though some steel getting this right. Its never easy to make a set from scratch. We always try to do something a bit different than the next guy, or in other words... put the MBH flare into it.
It means alot to me when someone gets a set of headers and they can admire the hard work that goes into them, because after you install them.... You wont see them much... You sure will hear and feel them though.
Projects like these are always alot of fun for me. Not only to make a new product... But to work with a guy like Rick, who shares the same passion I do for AMG's. In all honestly if you guys ever get to meet Rick he is a real nice guy.. Heck he might even buy you a chicken sandwich.

The RAR project comes to an end. We hoped to get Rick out to a drag strip this weekend, but they all (both) are closed for some reason. As an alternative Rick, will be heading out with Dyno-Comp to do some road racing this morning. Rick along with about 10 or some Mercedes will be pitted with all sorts of exotic cars. From porsche's, Lambo's, Ferrari's, Just to name a few.
All in all the project was a big success, Rick walked away with more power than when he came in. Not to mention a slightly new ripping sound. There will be many camera's documenting this event today. Including a whole bunch of them inside Rick's car.
I'd also like to thank James @ ACG, the previous work James and his team in San Diego did on Rick's car was outstanding.
I'm sure we will be back later today with a road course update.
