my 07 E63 has a host of engine issues it all started with bad vibrations through the chassis. Engine knocking , excessive oil consumption then the drivers side upper cam housing was knocking like crazy. Well after the super long battle the engine was bad and needed to be replaced so MB was willing to take me out of my car 2 years ago. The engine had a bad harmonic issue internally causing other parts to fail. Im no engineer or tech but it was serious.
Loved the car and I am now getting an Sl63 with the assumption the car should be bullet proof by now.

There are several TSBs regarding this issue, it is cam/VCT related and dealers are aware. FYI. One of my customers had a 2007 E63 for a DD and this is exactly what he experienced and went through.

Holy hell, a set of our plugs is $489.20 at the dealer..??? What are they made of...Unobtanium...LOL...Aren't they Bosch..? I think it'd be cheaper to put Denso's in...And yes I know price of car = price of parts. That just seems REALLY high for just plugs...

You don't have them...You have those ram air snorkels...our's kind of do but they put a slotted baffle in front of the snorkel which is in front of the radiator, so it's more just a cold air intake unless you bend them out or cut them off...

Trust me, if my motor was gonna grenade from NOS it would have done it a long time ago. I have easily made 100 NOS passes at the strip, used up two tanks in one afternoon on a road course (friggin blast), regularly spray on the street and sprayed it from 150 to ??? For about 45 seconds straight...somebody is really gonna have to go out of their way to try to break one of these motors, or have a hack tuner work on it and screw something up.

Out Of Control!!
A failed solenoid = REAL bad day. Nitrous is cheap power and works well when everything is functioning and set up properly. One thing fails or if it isn't setup properly, there goes your motor.

Agreed, but your statement of "one thing fails or if it is not set up properly, there goes your motor" applies to ANY vehicle NOS, N/A, SC'ed or turbo. A properly set up nitrous system should have several failsafes built in to minimize risk. My system will not fire if A/F's are not within a predetermined and pre-set window. As for the solenoids, anyone that has a motor pop because of solenoid failure deserves it. They are inexpensive and they should be replaced and tested regularly, anyone that does not take the time to replace a couple hundred dollars worth of solenoids, lines and fittings on a $40,000 motor (or any motor for that matter) at least once a season deserves a popped motor. This also includes checking and replacing O2 sensors and having your tanks inspected and tested. A nitrous system requires routine maintainance just like any other part of your car.
