I see all this back and forth with the sc motors blowing up recently and am wondering if anyone has ever blown up a 63 that has been linked to a tuners error ?????????

And if so did they ever man up and admit to it and cover the costs ?

Not that I've heard...I need to get my tune tweaked a little...My car codes after a couple hundred miles every time I take my charcoals out...I do however think my motor mounts are dying because it's got a shaky idle, but the tach isn't hunting or anything...

Mine is still throwing CEL's for "lean at Idle" I just keep clearing them, I think I will put my charcoals back in. Jerry said he increased my fuel 3% when he tweaked my tune, he said it might be a bad coil pack? The car runs great?

Yeah, mine pulls great. It did stutter on a roll from 70 in 6th gear one night. I think my ECU was pulling spark. Our ECU's must be retarded. I'm thinking I'm gonna change plugs this week.

That was a good one...Considering we are both pretty much stock I would hope neither of us Meh to each their own...If I really wanted to throw huge numbers down I'd TT a Z06 or get a Panamera Turbo...

I thought there was a head exploding smiley...guess not...

Hahaha...no joke...

Back to the actual topic for a sec, I find it hard to believe that pulling charcoals out flows that much more to make our engines run lean...

charcoals never threw cel's on my car but once i dropped the k&n's it kept on happening . it would go away but come back after hi speed runs 120+ which makes sense since u are forcing more air in . but i also had the air baffles cut out as well .

Once we did all our mods i never had another CEL come back .

I have my stock filters in and still throw the CEL's, I have the flaps on my air intakes openings folded back. I will put them back and reset the code and see what happens.

my 07 E63 has a host of engine issues it all started with bad vibrations through the chassis. Engine knocking , excessive oil consumption then the drivers side upper cam housing was knocking like crazy. Well after the super long battle the engine was bad and needed to be replaced so MB was willing to take me out of my car 2 years ago. The engine had a bad harmonic issue internally causing other parts to fail. Im no engineer or tech but it was serious.

Loved the car and I am now getting an Sl63 with the assumption the car should be bullet proof by now.

I know a few years ago VRP posted something about the secret being let out about taking out the charcoal filters will add something like 15-20hp on the dyno but I assumed it just allowed more air in resulting in more hp Here is a link to the topic, its not the one from VRP but it relates to the charcoal filters. Its from 2007.

Yeah I've seen that one...I call complete bullsh*t on 15-20...Maybe 5ish if even...I can't tell much difference either way, but the throttle feels a little tighter with them in so I'm just gonna leave em...
