Fuel Smell (Tank has been changed to new, but still problem there !!! )

Yeah,

recently, i have noticed smell of fuel + pressure when filling the tank in the fuel station + drop in power + the car is almost switched off when decelerating down to 20 and less and you can feel the cut ( da da da ) in the car but the car adapt itself by pushing the throttle a little bit more to keep the car on.

Also, I would like to know where is the fuel filter in this car?

I used fuel treatment already.

First fuel pump was changed because it was leaking and after 2 months I changed the fuel tank due to leak from different places.

Anyone suggesting anything?

are you sure the mechanic put in a fuel pump for an e55? reading from your description, it sounds like there isn't enough pressure to feed your engine with fuel. The e55 fuel pump is high pressure, and different than the other w211s. How often do you drive the car and do you put in octane boosters or fuel additives. My fuel pump busted before, and Ive also seen a lot of my friends cars fuel pumps broken when they dont drive the car often and use fuel additives.

I drive the car a lot and it is my daily use ... This problem started even before changing the pump or the tank " where the engine drop in power when decelerating".

I use only good fuel for my car and no additive on it.

If I'm not mistaking their was a recall for this. A plastic peice on the fuel pump pick-up leaks and the fumes can go in the car. The new one is brass.

There was a recall for it.

I think you're outta luck for finding the fuel filter, as i'm positive you have to take the pump out to get to it.

Pull up your rear seats...behind the driver side should be the top of the tank. When I had a fuel leak that whole area below the seat was full of fuel...after MB finally fixed the problem it took about a month to finally get the fuel smell out of the car.

yup happened to me also, pulled up the rear seat and it was flooded with fuel. Put coffee beans and charcoal in your car for the smell

+1

This was a known issue on the older cars. I think there are even some pics here on the forums showing the small puddle of fuel (even a tiny amount will smell strong.)

I would love if it was this problem , it would be easier to fix. I am repeating what I said, I changed a fuel pump and then I changed the tank, so I have up to date system.

I want to know is it fuel pump and filter related or something else !!!

Suggestion? Any particular test we can make?
