Going Big

Some oh ya'll have seen my shop (current size is 40x80)

above is an old picture when it was being built

and know that is full of my projects plus many other peoples.

So I finally decided it was time to go big. Just started the dirt work. Getting final bids for concrete and metal. Will post progress pics as it comes together.

So I am going to move the 2 current doors out to the end and enclose the car port, plus get a 4 post lift for my dyno instead of the ramp.

Then I am going off the left side another 40x80

Then I am going 30x80 of the right side.

than build be a road that goes around the right side to the back for easier access to my 2 post lift.

So nothing like having 8800sqft under room for a shop.

Metal arrived and started the slab work.

Have the back 20x20 pad to the 2 post lift ready

Working on getting the carport finished so it can be floated level with the rest of the shop.

Well they were going to try and pour concrete in these 2 areas yesterday and today - bu the rain prevented that. More work next week as long as the rain stays away.

Well got the back slab and car port poured last week. The 10" of rain we got slowed progress down.

Then later in the week, we got the 30x29 area poured.

Will set the remaining 8 poles tomorrow, than start framing the 40x80 slab on the left.

Also some 45' w16x26 and 40 14x22 beams showed up and will start getting ready to be welded up.

I was there late Saturday and Sunday all day. I was probably parked 200' from Brooke's car, but didn't see either of you...I went to get a drink and when I came back the 55 was gone. How'd you know I was there?

The shop is looking great!

BTW Kurt...do you know anyone that might have a B1 cam for sale? Putting an LS1 in my jetboat right now and I think that cam would be perfect for it. My old B1 took a hit from an engine that came apart and is not suitable for use...also I need a stock windage tray and water pump, if you have any leads on those...

Wow that is awesome..would love to come and check it out. Did you have any stupid hoops to jump through with building permits with the County etc or smooth sailing. Who is your general contractor and how are they tieing in the existing roof structure to the new?

I wish in Houston this was possible without having to be out in the boonies!

We need nice subdivisons that are built for car guys!! 1500sq. ft house with 3000sq. ft garage that looks nice.

No permits requires. I am doing the contracting on the building. The new roof is slide in a 1' under the old roof and bolted down. 2:12 to 1:12 pitch
