Hey guys how's everyone? Ok my question I was drivig back fromthe city today and I stopped at the light all of a sudden my car started to shake then it was pulling like it wante to take off a couple of time then the engine shut off... I tried a couple of times to start it back up with no luck. Waited 5 mins engine cooled down and it started back up with no problems. And the car had no engine or warning lights it just shut off, I'm really scared guys I hope someone has had this problem and it is an easy fix, on the bright side to this I am going to post up pictures of the meet I went to with the e60 people and a gtr really nice pictures I'll post them up when I get home. Any help would be appreciated thanks guys! In advance.

I'd be replacing the Crankshaft position sensor. That is a common problem with these engines.

+1 on the crank position sensor. Mine just did this about a month ago. Rolling down the street and everything just shut off. I think the part is about 100 bucks. Good luck. Nice pics!

 

+2...this happened to me when I first got the car. Scaring as hell especially when you are turning left onto oncoming traffic.

Thanks guys im going to get that checked out, where can i get that crank sensor if you dont mind me asking? also thanks for all the help guys, everyone is just so helpfull... and yes it was super scary my car just died and i was like huh?

 

I had to have my towed to the stealership so that's where I got my sensor. That was a LONG day.

 

sorry to hear that... my jaw dropped when that happened and i was just like omg what the hell i am looking into warranties right now as well
