I WILL BE FOREVER INDEBTED 2 SOMEONE WHO CAN ANSWER TECHNICAL ??'S ASAP RE: SAT & NAV
Have a Donor car with all options already (i.e. parts are free),
want to know how much -LABOR- only will cost to:
swap COMAND out (one that doesn't have either Satellite radio/Nav - with one that does have both)...... however the Nav disc goes in trunk, and I believe it is a fiber optic cable - needs rewired. also I'm positive there is a module under seat + antenna for the Sat
Lastly, getting rid of halogen headlights in favor of true HID/xenon headlights - i.e. Ballasts, etc
Much thanks

Thank you much for the info.
The only thing I ultimately gathered was the fact that the swap cost $2500. However I have the donor Comand & DVD nav drive, Antennas, etc - and ultimately only need the labor/wiring.

Jon,
Thank you.
I have already contacted Steve (MbenzNL) but need an answer/wiring diagrams/etc like asap to determine "cost effectiveness"
I was definitely NOT going to dealer. I have been recommended to
1. MB independent repair facility shop (i.e. Mainly mechanic)
2. Custom high end Auto audio installer / suspension / engine upgrades / paint / wheels
But I have to wait until tomorrow to hear quotes !!
Thank you.

i will help you the best i can...
your vehicle already has a gps antenna, tele-aid uses it... if you look at my post, you will see part numbers for a logmatic gps splitter... you install that, it will split the gps 2 ways...
my 05 was prewired for nav, so i will assume your e63 is...
you will also see in my thread, that i purchased a navigation wiring harness... you're going to have to purchase this... you can remove it from the donation vehicle, but removing the fiber optic wires from the connectors is tricky... i was able to figure it out after reviewing how it was put together... be very careful though, the smallest pinch can break the wire...
if you have any additional questions, please feel free to ask! i will help the best i can... the thread, however, lists the process pretty closely in a detailed manner...

i dont understand, thats what the extension cable does... it has the "connector" that plugs into the navigation drive... yes the fiber cable is already there, but where you remove the cable from the agw, you have to add one to reinsert it into the loop...
