How often do u check oil
How often do you need to top up your oil On e55 komp
My car is stock i dont drive it every day its not my every day car but i drive it hard every time i drive it big kick backs
I had a service about 9 to 10 months ago. I just checked the oil and it says add 1.5liters to fill
Is that normal or is it burning to much ?

I would add the 1.5 liters if it is telling you that. it has a range of high and low and should not use much oil. do a search here I did see others mentioning about 1 quart every 5000 miles is ok.

How do you check the oil? Physically with the dipstick tool or the via the car cumputer? I tried to check mine with the car computer and it never said anything. Granted that I change my oil every 3k mile, but you can't never be too safe with a high performance engine.

I check mine every few thousand miles. I've changed it every 9-10K since I got the car, and with 83,000 miles on the clock is uses ZERO oil between changes. Right after a fresh change with 9 quarts the display will read 7.3 qts., and just before I change it after ~10K it'll still read 7.3 qts..

I put over 5k miles since I got the car last Sept and my car is a daily driver but my work is 5 minutes down the road... and I was told at the dealership that I have to change the oil every 10k.. is that correct? or should I be changing it more often?

I would change at least every 5k
You defiinitely are burning or leaking something.
I have had the car for 6k miles, not had to add any oil.
Also just changed oil.
I would recommend shorter intervals for changing on any of these engines that produce the heat we do. Besides getting dirty and leaking, the heat breaks this oil down.
I have been told by many MB techs that have tore down these engines at 50k plus (ones that have been maintained under the recommended intervals) and these things are black and gunked up if you wait the intervals they suggest.
I just changed mine this weekend after about 5k miles and it still was black as hell and I just had a new block installed last year. The heat plays a big part in this.

I once went about 3500 miles before checking the oil. I only check it because I got a message on the dash that say something like "Check oil at next fill up" but after letting it sit for a few hr it only required about less than half a qt to top it off.

Thanks.

I dont mind to pay $100 every 6 months or 5K miles. This is a Mercedes.
I even change my Honda with Mobile 1 every 5k miles.
