NEED HELP ASAP: For those w AMG steering wheel emblem....

E55 then E63, now back to an E55
NEED HELP ASAP: For those w AMG steering wheel emblem....
Do you remove chrome MB star from airbag first, or simply place AMG emblem on top of star ? If you do that way, it appears the only contact points will be the chrome pieces of star vs. the center plastic of airbag ?

I just put mine over. Six months no problems......
+1 except it's only been 1 month for me. I put mine in without taking off the adhesive cover and it got stuck in there. I said "oh well" since it's in there, it's not moving". Went to go pass somebody and floored it to do so - the emblem shot out of the steering wheel and into my chest. Got home, took off the adhesive cover, stuck it on - no problem since. . .

Where did you guys get your emblems?
I got mine off of Ebay - the person who made the "best ones" doesn't sell them anymore (or better yet, I couldn't find his info) so I think Ebay is currently the only option.

i am kind of having the same problem, i had the emblem on my '07 e63's steering wheel, but it only stuck to the i guess you can say"3-d" chrome tri-star part and flew off every now and then, idk what to do

E55 w/ goods, Z32 Project underway
If I remember the old emblem is actually attached via 3 points into the steering wheel making removal difficult and leaving 3 holes.
