Seriously? i really have to ask this.
Why would a crazy stupid car like a 2008 z06 cost less, shall i say a lot less than my e63. same coverage, 100/300/100 full cov. only 1 violation, male 21.
i would save $400 every six months with a z06, i can get a decent truck on the side.
what would you choose? stay?

a quarter mile at a time
Right off the top of my head I would say it's because the vette would be cheaper to fix. Another factor may also be that E63's are more inclined to get into accidents with more expensive cars. I'm talking out of my @ss so I could be totally wrong.

Another thing is the age of the car is another factor. If the 63 is newer it will make an impact.

E55 then E63, now back to an E55
Keep in mind, they factor in the amount of claims they have paid on any given vehicle - as well as the frequency of accidents.
The other drivers determine your insurance to some degree.
Sorry but most Corvettes are driven by older gentleman that rarely drive - less time on road - and therefore get in less accidents (resulting in less $$ claims!)

The cost of repairs, although not the only factor, is a strong enough factor in this case to create the huge difference in price. All Mercedes/AMG parts are extremely expensive compared to Corvette parts especially AMG parts, which most of the time ends-up having to be shipped from Germany.
In addition, I think the lower number of "certified" Benz body shops have something to do with it. Almost any shop can work on vettes, but when a Benz gets into an accident, many people want to get it fixed at the dealership or at a "certified" body shop. Unfortunately, it costs body shops a fortune to be "officially" certified in Mercedes (or BMW) so many of them simply don't bother; and even though many of these shops are still capable of fixing the cars, they end up losing business to the few that are certified. Of course, this leaves the few body shops that are certified to raise the price of repairs and labor accordingly, which affects insurance. Also, since some parts take longer to get, the benz takes longer to repair, which means the insurance will likely pay more for a rental either to you or the other party or to both depending who's at fault.
There are probably many small factors like these that are taken into account and which ultimately affect the final quote.
