Turbo diesels are no joke. I have a 2005 F350 CC 4X4 that has been fully modded. I added a huge *** turbo that made 45 psi, new injectors, Fass fuel system, large a$$ spearco IC, CAI, and much more. I never got it to the track but I raced a few Dmax's that ran high 12's and got a couple lengths on them. There's nothing like spooling the turbo to 17 psi and launching in 4 wheel high.

Now the question that everybody wants to know - did you put HRE's on it and does it have it's own set of DR's?????

Diesel trucks are no joke. Dyno-Comps F350 extended cab hauler, I swear would run a 13 in the 1/4. On our way to Famoso, Ken from RENNtech was driving. He earned the name "40 Pound Rudy". As the boost was pinned at 40psi just about the whole way.
After a simple ECU flash and easy exhaust mod, it now gets 20mpg. It diesels didnt sound like a piston was going shatter into a million pieces, Diesel would be the latest gage.
I for one would love to see an AMG diesel. Diesel G wagon, or Diesel ML done by AMG.

It's amazing the kind of torque you can get out of the late model diesels with just a tune. It's fun knowing your tow rig can light up 4 huge heavy wheels and tires...haha It would be a fun transplant in a muscle car.

i once took my C55 out to the drags on diesel night when I was N/A. I ran against a Dodge Ram that was insane. I dot the jump on him at the tree. After that I was trying to find out where he was. All I could see in my side mirrors was a huge trail of smoke as he was in my blind spot. The next pass he blew my doors off.
A byproduct of a modded diesel, is the ultimate D*** move. You can fill up someones convertible with a huge cloud of black smoke. The Dyno-Comp pickup showed me this the hard way at a stop light, while i was in my SL.. Even though it happened to me, It was kind of funny.

Oh, and while I readily admit the w203 Coupe definitely looks better from some angles than others... "that ugly pos" is a bit harsh.

Man diesels are SO fun to smoke though!! Besides Wyoming, I am in Diesel truck hell up here and they ALL seem to want a piece of you.
They are all jacked, many modded, and have these just MASSIVE tailpipes. I swear some of the modded ones are like 8 inches or so in diameter.
Bout a year ago this dude actually came looking for me in Mexico. Lines up next to me and is revving it and getting all ready. I felt bad as I knew what was coming for him. Green light and then WHAMMO, he got killed. Throwing a bone though, they do stay with you pretty good to 60'. If you can picture looking in your rear view and seeing just massive black smoke pouring out of this thing. Next red light....SAME THING, he wants more. So I was happy to make his day with another kill on him with same hiroshima smoke and him giving me his IQ with one finger.
He then backed off and admitted defeat.
Not doubt, I'll get killed by one someday, but for now it's one of lifes great pleasures torching um.

So, you are running just as quick as when you had the 180, t/b, and tune? How was your MPH?

With my EDGE programmer I can switch on the fly to level 4 and I've got close to 800lb/ft TQ. Only problem is in that mode, you greatly risk grenading the transmission.

I've been told by someone at MB that the new E coupe AMG is supposed to be a high powered diesel. I've been waiting to hear more, but no news in the past 3-4 months on that.

the track conditions were perfect that day.My best time last year being stock was 12.4 at like 114 and the other day I did 2 back to back 12.365 at 114 and 115.
so I beat my modded times.I will try to go next week and run race gas and see what happens.
my highest trap was 116 when the car was cold and was the first run

Gotta be careful around a leaned on diesel. Ran into a Super Duty 4X4 that was obviously modded but he had no idea what my car was. I only pulled him by a couple of cars for a long city block and he never stopped spinning. At the next light he asked about doing it again but if he was in 4 HI instead of 2WD. I declined. Pretty cool guy. His truck makes 1400 ft./lb!

I also have an ML400 CDI in Germany, and yes it is built with all the other ML's in Tuscaloosa, but not available in the states. That's a Bi-Turbo V8 with something like 275 HP and about a zillion pounds of torque and the biggest intercooler you can imagine. Never ran it at a track, but I know the 0-62 MPH is under 6 seconds. Wait, there's more . . . cruising under 75 MPH nets about 33MPG. About 30,000PSI in the rail and uses piezoelectric injectors controlled by the ECU.
