How many have been stranded in their e55?

Hearing about BT's car leaving him on the side of the road got me thinking, how many members have actually been stranded in their e55 and for what reason? Also, I know that we deal with certain reliability issues when we own these cars, but issues that render the car unoperable just should not be acceptable.

Driving from Santa Fe to Denver my 3PC Kleemann let air out of the tire due to a hairline crack. Try finding a 19" high performance tire in Santa Fe let alone the entire state of NM. Stranded two days. I get the rim repaired and new tire mounted the tire shop got me back on the road. Only to find out half way back to denver the inner seal ripped when they mounted the tire. Another tire ruined after it was run flat. Car was towed back first 100 miles on AAA next 120 were on me. It was a very stressful situation. Not really the E55 leaving me stranded it was more of wheel thing... Kind of wished I had a spare!

You can drive with no SC belt and no SC for that matter. That does not qualify as stranded.

I was left stranded at the track after my tranny and torque converter blew. I decided to try a valve body mod and bye bye tranny after my first pass.... This happened on a Friday night, had my car back on the following Tuesday and made a record breaking run on Saturday. Damn car..... Overall I've had great luck with my car and wouldn't trade it in for any other 4 door sedan, at least not until the TT comes calling.

Not sure exactly what you're asking but I had the valve body modified by builderbill. He does a ton of tranny stuff for the the SRT boys and I was the first MB he tried. Bill took care of me after the unfortunate mishap and in the end we just decided not to pursue the idea anymore.

Crank position sensor failure, left me stranded on the freeway. This was about 2-3 weeks ago. It kinda left me with a second thought about driving the car long distant.

After hearing about all of the CPS that go out and the fact that it leaves the car unable to drive - I'm going to have it replaced in the near future when I put a couple of other parts on the car. My question, to add onto Charlie's, "what else commonly goes that leaves the car unable to run that can be pre-emptively replaced "under warranty"?"

Airmatic failure but I just drove the damn thing home anyhow.Made it fine since my car was not lowered. A bit of rubbing around some turns. Replacing the CPS as a precaution and carry a spare just in case.

I was trying to get out of a parking spot and the car just died on me, brakes and everything went out. Luckily I was going super slow and just hit the emergency brake.

I had it towed and I was told I had to replace my BCU (battery control unit) and alternator which was a $2200 fix. I bought the car 3 years ago with 19k and have 40k on it now and besides that thank god never had any other issue and I drive my car SUPER HARD.

I'll tell you what guys, the most scary thing about our cars would be the SBC. I had my brakes fail 100% while driving, all though it did tell me to pull over countless times. I decided to keep on going because my house was only a few miles away...never again. If your SBC ever tells you to pull and stop due to a low battery DO ITTTTT!!!!! This is a major flaw and I'm surprised more people haven't witnessed this same thing.

BTW...will the E brakes still work even though our SBC fails???

When the belt snapped it ripped one of the hoses open so he had to call for a tow.

I was asking because I was thinking of doing a valve body mod, the same one Hooley did replacing the solenoids with the blue top maybach ones. He had his trans go out and you also had your trans go out after these types of mods. He did however have a ton more power, but I am starting to wonder if this mod is causing the transmissions to fail.
