It looks like Barolo Red. There have been several threads on this color.

Am I the only one who doesn't really dig that color? 
I've seen an SL55 in that color and even though it's got the rare factor going for it, it wouldn't be my first choice.

no, your not. Its the most hideous and undesirabe color ever made on an E55. They are thousands "light" the market at auctions, in that color.

Reminds me of BMW's Indianapolis Red. BMW replaced Imola Red with this color. What a mistake! Imola Red is one of the few reds that I would buy.

Yeah, I think that's right, Mars Red.
That looks like the differences between Barolo Red and Mars Red. The Mars Red E55 that was on a thread here a while back looked more like that Imola Red M5. It's also like the Melbourne Red Metallic on the M3 (a real lipstick red.)
I don't like the Barolo, either. It's kind of like the old Barbera Red (purplish/maroon) on the 3 series. It was also the worst seller. Those reds are too wine colored and too sedate; more popular with the Palm Springs crowd, imho. They changed the Barbera Red it to a brighter Vermilion Metallic Red (less maroon.)
There are no stock red paints now for the new F10 5 series; red's not too popular in general anymore, I guess.
I personally prefer a real red like the Mars Red. It's more like a Ferrari red.

I have seen this color in person an another AMG and do not like it at all. I have seen pics of an E55 that was a red similar to the BMW Imola Red and it looked AWESOME!
far more attractive, at least in the pix

That Autotrader Barolo Red 55 looks too much like tomato juice to me. Or V8 juice, lol.
