Extended Warranty Woes ($$$$$)
So...I picked up my '06 E55K about two weeks ago and I'm shopping for an extended warranty. Of course, Easy Care is what's recommended by my dealer here in Atlanta (RBM). I've gotten quotes from them and Easy Care directly - cheaper from the dealer.
But still about $5k. 3 year/36. Uggh. That seems awful high And, since my car has 38,800 miles...I've got about 200 miles before the pricing goes up even MORE!
What has everyone else done? I may just take $3K and park it in a growth fund and use that for unforeseen repairs.

Try Fidelity Service Contracts. http://www.fidelitywarrantyservices.com/
I have this on my SL600 and they've been great so far with claims. But you're not gonna find anything under 3K for these cars.

I have any E55 with Maximum care, and would not feel comfortable owning the car otherwise... Mine was only $3k I believe.

Pullejo,
Just call Mike Chase at Chrysler Factory Warrantys. No wear and tear clause like with third party warrantys, llke Fidelity. Plus Fidelity has some real bad press around, search Google and you'll see.

you are way nicer than I would have been. I was thinking something along the lines of "find it yourself you LAZY F***", but I suppose your way is better

Actually EasyCare just raised their prices beginning on May 1st by a considerable amount. I doubt they will raise them again. They are, however, a good reputable company.

On the slush fund, I debated on that as well and figured the warranty was a one time cost set at a price. Are you still under warranty on your car now?
If so, you should qualify for the MB warranty, ask Sabrina O'Donnel about that at RBM.
Just another option to look at....

Chrysler is my choice. Call Michael Case www.chryslerfactoryplans.com
You can get your quote online. I was quoted 70,000 extra miles for 5 years for $3,000.00 with $200.00 deductable. I looked at Easy Care both at the Dealer and direct, too expensive. So far out of all the different comnpanies Chrysler has been best.

Mike Chase at Chrysler Factory Warrantys...
Seems to be covered about a million times on this forum, including the great coverage. Pay 1/2 the price of the crap that the dealer sells, and get a better plan... or.. get someting else <search Button> beep

Just FYI, my
experience with Fidelity has been very good on MB and BMW. The Chrysler warranty stil may be the best bet for an MB though.

Easy Care is coming over to my house today to do the inspection...
I'd love to have Michael's contact info - sounds like he's the man I want to deal with.

I am about to pull the trigger on the Chrysler extended warranty,Micheal Case has been awesome ,I am going with the maximum care 5 year/70K $100 deductible plan...
Besides the deductible, did anybody have to pay for anything out of pocket on covered items....my concern is, are they covering the outrageous labor rate that the Mercedes dealers are charging(I think the stealer around here charges $160 per hour )?
Thanks

Then you've had better luck than I have. DC takes up to a week to pay my dealer and the dealer doesn't want to wait, so I have to front it
