how long does it take to recover from 140F to say 10 to 15 over ambient?
at 80F weather.. I went up to 130mph and spiked over 145F and took about 45 seconds to recover.
I think recovery is the only think you can work on.. cooling the IAT is maxed out with your set up. The spike will always be there, unless you run meth, nOS or ice water.

Either he needs more or his beast is pulling timing. I've been told that my buddy is running similar numbers but when high octane is used that number increases dramatically.....
Maybe Charlie could put some race gas in the beast and see what that will do. Just a thought.

Question;
How big is your auxiliary unit and could I possibly use my stock H/e in conjunction with my larger unit? Or, or, could I run a small unit in conjunction with my larger H/E?
TIA

I was just thinking about doing exactly this last week. Any pics of the setup, and which heat exchangers did you use if you don't mind me asking? I would like to find something that fits without hacking everything behind the bumper up and isn't a nightmare to install.

Your setup is very similar to what Evosport came out w/ years ago right? I was told then and told now....the two H/E setup is most efficient at cooling.

What size is your secondary H/E?
Did you consider using your secondary H/E with an aftermarket primary H/E?
Do you recall if there is enough room?
My cooling setup is not sufficient with my 180mm pulley. My setup is helpless.

The real problem lies in the fact that the intercoolers have a limited BTU capacity which is much less than the BTYU capacity of all the upgraded heat exchangers. This is not to say they do not help, they certainly do up to the BTU capacity of the intercoolers. Note the larger intercoolers on the SLR's. Reducing intercooler temps with iced water just prior to a 1/4 mile run should help, however those IAT come up really fast and it's not really practical for normal operations. The solution is simple, it's the application of the solution which is the problem with the 211's.

OMG i did the conversion from F to C and you were running in 4c weather lol
The speeds and the power the car would make in such weather is
yet you still got up to 126 !?
hmm what pulley and cooling setup you running if you do not mind me asking?

Here is my DL with temps in the upper 40's. Column D is IAT. Column F is throttle position. 4th gear right up to red line at 135+ or so I think.
Definitely no way around it, these things do run pretty hot.
Always a chance you have a bubble up in the intercooler or system somewhere. They can take some time to work themselves out.
Maybe some of the other trunk res guys will chime in. Be interested to see what they are running.
She recovered real nice so that is a plus.
