Thoughts on my IATS
Let me try this again. I am curious as to whether or not my IATs are inline with my updated cooling mods. I have 2 new cm30 pumps, one at the front and one at the rear with my resevoir, plus I have a Code 3 HE. I went out yesterday and did a few runs just to log my IATs. They seem a tad high to me, but I am looking for some thoughts. Ambient was 82 and humid and not one run went over 100 mph. Thanks much.

Brotha, I tried. lol. It took me like an hour just to make that ****ing graph. I was actually more worried about the spike into the 140s after a couple short pulls. But at this point, I am done stressing about it.

It looks to be a bit on the high side with that type of cooling setup.
Don't forget our cars like cool temperatures. If you can, try and data log a stock 55k motor (or even a modded 55 without cooling upgrades) in your area with similar ambient temperature / humidity and cross-reference the #'s.
That could tell you how efficient your setup is actually running.

Seems a little higher than what I've seen on a couple of other cars with similar setup.... but at least you're not passing 145. Any chance you could datalog a 40 to 140 mph run?

100mph.
Also, the pumps are set to run constantly, and the system has been bled. That rear tank sounds like a jacuzzi. My next steps are to clean the filters, check all the hoses again, and check the IAT sensor.

Mo,
You should have a disclaimer under that.
"I am not responsible for injury / death / impounded vehicles / tickets related to the recommendations stated in my post...."
lol
Don't get me wrong, I wish I could do that our here in LA. I guess it could be possible late at night with spotters on the roads but a gamble none-the-less

But seriously, yeah it would probably need a closed road or a track or something.... data logging at those speeds are very important though because it allows you to see an overall picture of how well the car is behaving under load.

I experimented with some pumps, a flow meter and couple of ic/he's this winter on the bench. When I tried 2 pumps in series, I always got less GPM than either solo. Series gives you more head, like if you needed to pump up a slope. There's a lot of fluid dynamics going on in your circuit. It would take a lot of trial and error to place the pumps where they might be to some advantage in series. Most likely the output from one is interfering with the in/out of the other and giving you poor GPM. Don't know, just a possibility. The only place you want any turbulence in the circuit is where the heat exchange takes place, in the IC or the HE.

Only change today was weather. But here is the crappy part. I just checked some logs from April...temp was mids 60s or so, and my iats were really close if nor better and that was with just a single cm30. I can not figure this out and it is driving me crazy.

Here is my DL with temps in the upper 40's. Column D is IAT. Column F is throttle position. 4th gear right up to red line at 135+ or so I think.
Definitely no way around it, these things do run pretty hot.
Always a chance you have a bubble up in the intercooler or system somewhere. They can take some time to work themselves out.
Maybe some of the other trunk res guys will chime in. Be interested to see what they are running.
She recovered real nice so that is a plus.

at 80F weather.. I went up to 130mph and spiked over 145F and took about 45 seconds to recover.
I think recovery is the only think you can work on.. cooling the IAT is maxed out with your set up. The spike will always be there, unless you run meth, nOS or ice water.

how long does it take to recover from 140F to say 10 to 15 over ambient?

My #'s are in the high 140's 150's at those speeds. Some of these logs look pretty nice, Jackpro's especially. My systems is around 140 at 100 mph.
I will be logging tomorrow at Famosa to see where I'm at through the 1/4 mile.
