I 1/4 miled it last night

I was on 16" BFG drag radials, was in "4x4 mode" - meaning, the car was still slammed, but raised with the button.

I think I have a weak top end if you ask me.

Consistent 1.8 60s, and 12.1 @115ish.

I want a better trap

Great runs, looks like it was a good night to drag last night. According to dragtimes, DA was 301 ft and temp was 55 F

Your 60' is killing you. If you can drop that 60' just a tad more, you'll be in the 11s

did you reset the ecu? what type of fuel are you using? I went 12.07@118.8 on street tires.

I reset the ecu at the track.

Mods: LET tune, green filters (previous owner's work)

Im thinking about deleting secondary cats and resonators in hopes of maybe some top end power to get more mph.

For the power I make, I feel I got slighted on trap speed. I wanted 118-119

There was guy at the track last night with a LET tune and K&N filters and on 18 M/T DR, he was cutting high 1.7X 60ft and ran 11.9X @ 118

Im ok with my et, and trapping 91.5 in the 1/8th, Im not okay with 115-116. My back 8th seems to slack a bit, in my opinion.

Does anyone else feel a slight stutter when the car lowers itself?

I launched both slammed and in 4x4, and my mph was always higher when slammed, but my 60's were slightly worse. F

agreed with Mo, the 60 is killing you. These cars fall on their face on the back side anyways. The only way to get near a 120mph trap is to get up and running ASAP. I got excited to hear of 16 inch tires. I assume you run CCW wheels?

With everything set "stock", I'd expect to see closer to a 7.5 @95mph for the 1/8th. Monitor that and not really 1/4 miles since it is a stronger guage on how well you are launching. GET THE LAUNCH DOWN! To me, honestly technique is HUGE for a launch. It was always the most challenging and rewarding thing for me. There is absolutely nothing like mashing that pedal down and NOT getting the typical wheel-spin. The feeling of being planted in that seat can not be duplicated without POWER!!!

Enjoy it in good health!

My best run stock was a 12.11 @ 116 with a 1.81 60'. However, MOST of my runs were a 12.2-12.3 @ 114-115. I was concerned about trapping 114, but after several trips to the track I've found that 114-115 is simply what the car does under normal conditions. I typically see about 115 the first run and then 114.XX every hot lap after that. Maybe I could get a 117 out of it if it was 40 degrees outside, but then it would just spin. When you see a stock car running 117 and 118 there's a very good chance the temp was low, the car was cold, ice was used, etc. Those are not normal everyday traps.

If you want more, definitely go for a pulley. I see you already have the LET tune which I'm sure feels awesome, but couple that with a 172mm or 180mm pulley and that car will PULLLLLLLLLL. I just had Eurocharged flash my car after the ASP 180mm install on Tuesday, and the difference is night and day(between stock and pulley/tune).

Down low, up top, in the middle, it just pulls like a train. I swear every time I drive it the car just gets faster. I'll be heading back to the track in a couple of weeks to see how it affected MPH and ET, but from the seat of the pants I'm sure it'll pull 118 mph in most conditions, and possibly a 120 if it's cool out and the car has cooled off before the run.

Edit: My best 1/8th mile time is 7.81 @ 92, which was during my 12.11 @ 116 run. I honestly can't see chopping .3 off of that until the 60' gets down to a 1.65 or so, which in "stock" form is close to an impossibility unless a drag tire is used. If we're talking "stock powered" with a sticky tire I could see it happening much easier.

I should also note that all of my runs are with 40 pounds of stereo equipment, a FULL tank of gas(traction on street tires is impossible with 1/4 tank), and a 285 pound driver, which certainly don't help.

I was running 16x7.5 Sport Edition F5 Silver rims, with 255/50R-16 BFGoodrich g-Force tires. Not on CCW, a far less expensive option. Came to 540 shipped.

Brake clearance was ridiculously close, as in, I didnt think they would bolt on, but they did. I probably couldn't have fit a baseball card in between the gap.

Heres a pic

I probably should have raised the car back to stock height, and I wasnt really messing with psi too much as I didnt have a pressure gauge - but on some pulls, the TC light didnt even flash and felt like a dead hook.

I did about 10 passes, 3 of them being 12.0, the rest being ~12.1-12.18. I did bring a small bag of ice, but it was still too hot to touch when I went for more passes.

Im going to install my cm30 soon and try and find a way to get more airflow to cool the engine. My degree marker sits at the 100C mark, maybe a notch more if Im in traffic - that seems too high to me.

IMHO I think it may be your tune. My car will hit over 93.5mph in the 1/8 regularly with a high of 94.2@7.53 and my car has pretty much always picked up over 27mph on the backside.

Have you removed the black plastic piece under the hood? if you haven't remove that and take a box knife and cut the heat shield so that air has a direct shot at exiting the hood vent. I also remove my front grill when I'm at the track and after a run I can come back and touch my S/C & Plenum. My car doesn't seem to be affected that much by heat In the past I have made 4 back to back runs and my best run has come on my 4th run twice and when Alan drove my car he made two back to back runs including letting it run at idle while waiting for someone that had issues at the line and while the et went down .02 the mph was exactly that same to the thousandth. The diffence in the et was due to the 60' 1.71 vs 1.72.

I removed the black plastic piece. I was going to try the front grille, but was worried it might affect aero a bit.

Do you have that pulled out all the time? I have thought about taking mine out but was worried about rain or water getting to the engine compartment.

Yes sir and I have also cut the heat shield as well. Im not sure about the rain but I can wash my car and not get any water in the engine compartment that I've noticed.

I'm not sure that it does, I think aero wise the bumper sticks out far enough to kick the majority of the air over the hood you know what I mean. I think it has actually made my car faster by sucking in more air and at the same time keeping it cooler

Ya that was me. Seems like AWOL and I are pretty close for the same amount of mods. The trap is definitely different though. Nice runs all in all.

Nick told me about your car and I was very surprised of the outcome. Your car is running very strong for the mods you have. Have you logged your car at all to see what's happening with the timing and AFR's?
