differences with fuel sending units.

As some of you might know i broke my fuel sending unit trying to fix the gas leak. im looking for a replacement and found one on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33555 with part number A211 470 49 94 when i called the dealer they said i need a A211 470 51 94 this is supposebly a newer part i cant imagine there is a huge diff, my question is does anyone know any differences and or think i will be okay to use this.

Thanks

a Rivera...via a Custom 24, Strat and Les Paul
I honestly don't know but considering that fueling is important I would go with the newer updated part.

I have been told that the newer part number has a revised design that is said to eliminate the reason it was recalled. Something like a stainless fuel line versus rubber.
This is second hand info from a Mercedes tech, I have not seen the revised part (yet...lol).

Looking at EPC Net, it looks like A2114704994 is the newest version...or at least the version that replaced a couple others. I don't see any entries for A2114705194 as even being a valid part number.
