Powder coated my surge tanks - PIC - Courtesy Exotic-Metal55
I have been wanting to do this for some time but don't want to be without my car for an extended period.
Do you guys have spares? Maybe we could get a core exchange program running???
1. remove air boxes and rubber inlet to TB
2. unscrew 8 tq bolts on each tank
3. loosen the rubber coupler below the TB and you are done.
when installing make sure you use new gaskets. they are 10.5 a piece at MB dealership

You guys really do have a great thing going on down there. I know B "worth the wait" has someone who can do them up here, but like he said - just not willing to have her out of commission and for God sakes $40.00
- we can't even park our cars up here for 2 hours for 40.00. I really want to do the calipers also (which something tells me will be the next Houston DIY) but same situation as above - I'm telling you - DIY clinics for all the major AMG hubs
.

Personally I am in favor of every member here having racing red surge tanks! Maybe I will try and find a set for cores and just rotate them around.
Car-part.com...here I come...lol.
