(I would've plain lost it if this happened @ trk, the car just falls on it's face & has horrible lumpy/missing idle when coil fails)

The Best of Mercedes & AMG

Interesting info: My street setup w/295/30/19 Vred's weighed in @ portly 64 lbs each vs ugly duckling CLK 320 whl/Hoosiers 35 lbs each for a total weight loss of 29 lbs per corner in rear

Before coil went the SL felt markedly improved, @ 38-40 psi on Drag's had the front end noticably lifting upward from a dig w/very little spin. I'm totally addicted & can't wait to feel a real launch @ track
. Surprisingly, my other friend had to cancel as well due to last minute changes. I talked to a couple of friends (drag addicts) who were there last night and they said temps were awesome last night but DA was okay although it did (apparently) get much better towards midnight. According to their weather station, DA reached a high of 820 ft and dropped down to about 240 ft by the end of the night. They ended up running until 12:40 am due to some delays.
No worries though, there is another TNT coming up on June 11th...

Clay: just approaching 47k (I'll post the Warranty/dealer info/pricing here after fixed, tho Marcin tells me it's a few grand w/labor etc if they replace both coil paks, more than likely 1 side only failed & the other will go shortly after but warranty will ONLY replace what's currently failing, so this could be some real fun

They do feel pretty soft, but of course they have a ridiculous "00" wear rating!

Also FYI...these tires wear out ridiculously fast. I was at 6mm tread depth. I just did about a dozen fast launches this morning in about 30 minutes time. No burnouts. They went from 6mm tread depth to 5mm!

.Why did you decide to move away from the hoosiers? What was your deciding factor to make this switch?

According to the Vbox, on the higher map and pressure, I was capable of achieving 135.7 mph at Sacramento.
Well, my main reason is having a tire I can just drive up to the track on without having wheels inside the car. They do seem to do just as well as the hoosiers on the street from all my testing. But with a burn out at the track, who knows. But if they wear out way faster than the Hoosiers, then they are not for me. Secondly, the Hoosiers were so bad on the street when they were worn out, they were way worse than my Generals! So I kind of was surprised by that and decided to try something else. But perhaps as you get down towards the cords the Hoosiers are designed to slip like crazy?
Are you using the M/T radials still?? Perhaps I should have got a set of those. I just thought the newly designed Nittos were something special. I saw one magazine test where they actually picked the Nittos over the MTs, and then some forum discussions saying the MTs were better. So still inconclusive.
