OT - some new mods to 997TT with pics
Haven't had my E55 for almost 4 years now but I still visit here everyday Some of you "old timers" may remember when I made the switch and I always appreciated the kind words, so I figured I'd post this here instead of OT.
It's 3 years this week that I made the drive to Cleveland to pick up my '07TT. One of the great gestures was made by Dave (Rock) when he drove by the dealer a few days before and took some pics and sent them to me.
Of course he couldn't let the opportunity slip by without saying something like someone keyed the whole car, or something like that LOL.
Probably the 1st car that I actually enjoy more now than when I first got it. Had thought of trading it for an F430 about a year ago, but realized that it couldn't totally replace the TT. It will be a great addition, which is the plan, but I don't see myself getting rid of this anytime soon.
It's not my DD but I drive it a lot. Have 34K miles on the clock and it's been perfect (knock on wood).
Have had an exhaust since just about day 1 but started doing some other mods a few months ago. I think i'm done.
Removed the first aftermarket exhaust a few months ago and replaced it with FVD Brombacher exhaust and headers. German made and sounds insane. Also went with FVD's ECU tune.
For suspension work went with TPC Racing out of Jessup Maryland. TPC is a 24hr Daytona winner, so they know porsche and suspension work.
I already had Bilstein coilovers but took it another level. TPC starts with the stock bilstein's and then they machine appropriate hats and top plates. Further mods for revised spring rates are also done. The PASM control unit is reprogrammed to accomodate the new spring rates. Completing the package is adjustable sway bars, adjustable drop links, and adjustable rear toe links. They finished the work by installing their custom made hybrid Intercoolers.
The handling and amount of grip is almost comical.
Made a few changes to the look of the car as well. I'm not a fan of most body kits as they are usually a bit "too much" for me. I wanted something that looked like it could have come from the factory. I decided on Techart's front spoiler as well as their rear wing. I was not a fan of their side skirts as I felt they were a bit over the top (I must be getting old). For the side skirts I decided on GT2 factory side skirts, and while pretty subtle, they really look good, and go quite well with the techart pieces.
Even added a couple of factory leather interior pieces that I missed on my original spec.

You want manual or PDK? If manual, look for '07, '08, '09 with the race proven GT1 Mezger engine. Lots of clean examples out there with this iconic dry sump engine.

Chris, the car looks fantastic with the new additions.....very tasteful!! Have you ever taken it to the 1/4 track just for shiits and giggles?
Hey Jim my nose may be brown but I'm just dedicated to being a giver...................Here ya go:

Wow, beautiful car!
By chance do you have any side shots of your car that show the calipers a little better. I've been going back and forth on painting mine and can't come to a decision. Thanks!
